OreckAdvanced Filtration Vacuum Bags for Magnesium Upright (Pack of 6)

These are good bags that fit the Oreck.They are pricey but then if you have the Oreck you should be able to afford them.I bought these for my Oreck which is an excellent machine so if you want to hear about the machine read on.The Oreck Magnesium Upright Vacuum Cleaner is a really smart looking vacuum cleaner but it does come at a high price.It's made from Magnesium which means it's strong than steel and lighter and the firm boasts it will last longer.But when was the last time you saw a vacuum cleaner made out of steel.I think my mum had one back in the 70's.Plastic is the norm now and that has not prevented Mr Dyson from making his fortune has it?True the vacuum cleaner is light. But despite this it is not good on stairs.This would be the vacuum of choice, provided you had deep pockets for a flat (no stairs) and one which has lots of clear spaces - smooth carpets and wooden floors and the like.If you are like a lot of people and have stuff on your floors- here there and everywhere like most people with kids and parents who let them be kids and play this is not the cleaner for you.Flat wise- It is very noisy in use if you live in a flat with thin walls and floors you need to consider this.It uses bags- again great for the flat dweller or people with the money and time.Our vacuums contents provide they are sound to- go on the compost heap.The bags are almost £17 GBP for a set of 8 but this is a new machine and the make and bags are American.You may have trouble obtaining them in the future especially if this machine lasts as long as it claims.Of course unless it is really popular you won't be able to get the no brand ones that fit the machine and are a lot cheaper. Again I prefer a bagless machine simply because it's cheaper and you never run out of bags. Simple.The machine does have a lot going for itIt's looks are good and in the rich house this is a winner- not in ours though.If you live the Spartan life you are quids in if not then look around.The power consumption is a meagre 400Watts.So you will save power. The arrangement of the suction is good I grant you- the air is not sucked via the bag weakening the effectiveness and necessitating more power or force needed. That is a good feature.The Specs for filtration, Hepa etc you can read for yourself.The cord is a long 30 footer (10m)and the device has two LED 'headlights' to light your way which personally I never miss.If you use it under the bed and have nothing there then this is the machine for you it goes very flat and those LEDs come into play.Not for us though we have those beds with storage under.Talking about storage this machine is very slim and will fit easily into a small cupboard.All in all?A good well built machine BUT know your house/flat/home consider what you want it for as well as the looks and the really high price.Thank you for reading this review I hope I have helped?PS Now in February 2016. Easy to fit

The Oreck vacuum cleaner is brilliant, but now unavailable. We were very glad to be able to purchase these purpose made bags. The system is excellent for the avoidance of dust and odours.

Works great in Oreck Magnesium. Just be careful and don’t press too hard on the plastic bag dock or you will break it if you don’t know how to put the bag in. Good news is you can get the bag dock on Amazon for $5.

Works as expected, good for the money, easy to put on vacuum. Will buy again.
