Yes , Mine is all steel. When used per the instructions this is a very good tool. I originally thought it was expensive , but now understand why. Saved me money in blades and bearings. With the 3 blade Zero turn mowers it is almost a must have tool.

Q: how does your blade balancer compare to the common bench-top cone balancer?

This is much much better than the cone balancer. This product is used by commercial mowing companies to keep blades balanced , and less stress on bearings.

This is not an imitation. It is made in the USA; Waldo Wi. Arrived in an original unopened MAG-1000 box with the owners manual. Very nice tool.

Q: why is this 2.5 pounds and the 750-087 model 4 pounds ?

Just received MAG-1000 from Stens with Part No. 750-087. It weighs 2.75 lbs. The shipping weight was 4.1 lbs. Hope this helps.
