Thought I would upgrade and purchased by the reviews including oxo’s. Not a hands down winner for me. Very bulky and take up way more room than previous wooden utensils. I thought per the reviews that the would be a very dense wood with “natural oils”. They actually feel like a softer wood and are somewhat dry and porous feeling. Stuff sticks to them making them harder to clean. The wood feels like it will wear off in the sharper corners ( I bought the spatula’s also). They feel like they need to oiled, varnished and or polished. My old one were leaner, slipperier and seemed tougher. So I seem to avoid using them.

I bought the Oxo 3-Piece Wooden Turner Set a few weeks ago, and they’ve quickly become my go-to utensils in the kitchen. The wooden handles feel comfortable to hold, and the turners are strong enough to flip everything from pancakes to heavier items like burgers without bending. I like that the wood is thick and durable, and it doesn’t feel cheap at all. Cleaning is easy as long as you hand wash them, and they haven’t absorbed odors or stains so far. Overall, these turners are simple, well-made, and do exactly what you need them to do. I’m very happy with this set. 5/5

I decided to replace my favorite wooden turner that I had for many years because it was looking pretty worn. This seemed like a lovely set and indeed it looked great when I got it. Today I noticed two cracks in the wood of the one turner that I have used so far. It was never soaked or put in the dishwasher. I bought the set one month ago and I missed the return cut-off by one day. With so many good reviews, I had decided to take a chance that mine would not be one of the defective ones. I wish I knew why the cracks occurred on some sets and not others.
