Shielding lotions are completely different to conventional moisturisers. For one thing, they are not heavy or greasy. They work by forming an invisible barrier on the surface of the skin, effectively keeping allergens and bad stuff out, and allowing your skin to moisturise itself by preventing the skin from becoming dehydrated and keeping the good stuff in.One thing I really like about Skin MD shielding lotion, is that it is made with natural ingredients, unlike conventional moisurisers which nearly always contain liquid paraffin or white soft paraffin. I mean, do you really want to put petroleum on your skin? The ingredient list for Skin MD is heaven to read, with lots of good, nourishing ingredients and no nasties.A 120ml bottle costs about (), but lasts for ages, as a tiny drop of lotion spreads over a large area of skin. The barrier effect of the lotion lasts for about 4 hours before you need to reapply the lotion. When I first used the product over a year ago, I loved the feel of it on my skin, as it didn't feel sticky or greasy and was lovely and light and left my skin feeling silky smooth. For eczema sufferers it is very effective when used in conjunction with steroid creams, though you must remember to put the steroids on first, due to the barrier function of the cream.Skin MD has enabled me to wear makeup again, and generally feel more "human". I can honestly say it is the most effective product I have ever used on my skin, and I buy a new bottle about every 3 months. Again, I stress that nothing can CURE eczema, but this stuff definitely helps me to cope with it. I just wish it was available on prescription!

I am v impressed with Skin MD - my baby daughter has eczema and this seems to have really helped clear her skin. It's more expensive than I would have liked but worth it it to see the improvement. Sinks in quickly and is fragrance free which is great. Definitely recommend.

Never has the word suitable for all skin types been more appropriate! Although my skin type is oily I use this daily. You will immediately notice how quickly this absorbs into the skin, you do not need a lot as it spreads really well. This is dry to touch in about a minute - amazing. If you have dry skin, eczema this is superb for it, I bought 2 and now have bought 4 more. Have a light almond smell realaly nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Bought this due to the hype in the beauty world and I guess it's all right for everyday. But it doesn't really majorly moisturise my skin. I find that my cheeks still stay a bit dry so I have to put on some heavier moisturiser on top of that. I do however like it because it 'shields' my skin from pollutants. I also like the fact that it doesn't clog my pores nor does it cause me to break out. I'll continue using this and see how it goes.

Use this when my skin is feeling particularly dry and it really helps. Great for feet as well as it's not at all greasy.

I was recommended this product some years ago for use as a face cream and sun cream. I lost touch with the supplier but found them again on Amazon and ordered.Although the bottle has changed colour it's the same great product and the service and delivery notification was very good. In fact it was delivered a day early.!

This was a great buy, can recomend this to anyone with skin problems, its made with all natural ingredients, well worth a try :0)

I have dry hands and feet and this is a good lotion. it kept my skin hydrated but i am sure that there are cheaper alternatives. it wasn't an "oh my god" product if you know what I mean. its not greasy and has no scent which is nice since my skin can be sensitive. it has a very thin consistency so absorbs nicely. I used it all up but I think I will stick to my Simple hydrating lotion - works the same :)

I keep this by my sink. Use it everything I wash my hands. In this dry indoor climate it works to keep my hands from drying out.

This lotion is TRULY AMAZING! When you first put it on, it feels very "sticky" and I thought I was NOT going to like it----but if you wait about 2-3 minutes, it is an AMAZING softener! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist with 20+ years experience and so I KNOW good moisturizing creams and lotion! Would love to purchase it all the time but at a very high price for a TINY 4 oz bottle, we will be using it sparingly and only when necessary. I feel the price is too high for such a small size, other than that, IT IS AMAZING! I would say its main use would be EXTREMELY DRY and maybe cracked skin on hands and feet. In my opinion, I would not use it for all over moisturizing because of the price.

I had seen reviews of this lotion online an on YouTube. I decided to give it a try since I have dry and acne prone skin with patches of moderate to severe eczema. Acne is clearing up, eczema is less inflamed, and my skin isn't flaky like it was. I do feel like fine lines are more noticeable. The consistency of this lotion is strange. It is much thinner than the heavy creams I was using but it's very smooth. It almost has the texture of a makeup primer. When it dries, my skin feels incredibly soft and not greasy at all. At all. It completely absorbs. Great for eczema, dry skin, acne prone skin, no fragrance, and you only need a tiny amount. I'm a fan.

After trying a myriad of lotions and creams, I purchased this product to try. I immediately got relief from my constant itchy skin. It goes on non-greasy, and actually feels like it absorbs instantly. Time will tell if my skin improves, but so far I love this lotion. We also try to purchase cruelty free products, and this is a big plus. Overall a very good lotion that does what it claims.
