Works quite well on a round bale of hay. Easy to use. Blade is sharp and hook on reverse side does well in removing netting on bale of hay. Worth the money and make life on the ranch easier.

I used this hat knife last season on and off. The length of handle is a little long, as juxtaposed with the angle of the blade. If the handle was a few inches shorter it would be less awkward to cut bales with. I feel a bit like I’m using an ax and often have to use two hands to control it while cutting. To be fair, I am a 5’2” woman and perhaps it would be better for someone with more height and longer arms.

3rd hay knife purchased. Works so much better on round bales than a regular knife.

Quality built seems to be built. Durable definitely helps prevent us from cutting our hands not a bad price.
