Heavy Duty 3/4″ Slide Bolt Weld-On Steel Gate Latch – Powder-Coated Black Finish, Large Security Slide Bolt for Metal Gates & Doors

This thing is much bigger than I expected but it's a good thing. I'm going to be welding it onto a big over sized security gate I built. I will definitely keep this in mind for other gates.

This Latch is certainly heavy duty. I didn't catch the fact that it's meant to be welded on, but no big deal to drill holes for screws. My only complaint is that the D-loop that the padlock goes through looks like it would be pretty easy to tear off with a few hard hammer blows. I ground the corner down on mine to make it harder to hit, but it could still probably be smashed off.

This 3/4 bolt is attached to light little piece of metal. The body of the latch would break well before the 3/4 slide bolt, doesn’t come with the receiver for the bolt, not what was expected from the description

Product is mediocre at best. It’s cheap so I wasn’t expecting a 10, but the paint finish is extreme poor. Clearly they painted it and then slid the latch to the side right away, mottling the paint job, so there is already rust developed on the bolt in two locations that I’ll need to sand off and repaint. Also, no receiver for the bolt, which means I have to fabricate something that loosely matches. Just be aware this isn’t a high quality latch.
