Hi, I am 86, five feet ten and thigh measurement is 48 cm. My knee brace is size XL and although I have to really pull the brace up hard, it does support my leg very well and remains in place all day. It does grip but then again, it should, to be effective. The knee brace is a real boon and I wish that I had found it earlier. Hope this helps.
