Saw this idea on Facebook. They work great, small enough for tight areas of a pattern, heavy so holds the pattern down well without shifting. pretty and easy to grip and take off. And way less expensive than pattern weights sold for that purpose. Also you get more. love this sewing idea.

These weights are exactly as I hoped they would be -hefty,large, good quality attractive glass with the handles on them shaped in such a way that they are perfect for pulling out of a slippery fermenting liquid. These are the only ones where the handles slope upwards from a smaller-to larger, creating the perfect grip for fingers on slippery glass.The problem is that over half of the large set of 9 that I ordered arrived with the handles broken more than 50% off, and I do not feel confident using the broken ones with food products. I have requested replacement and hopefully the new set arrives complete. I would love to give these a 5 if they can correct the problem.So a new replacement order of these weights arrived 2 days later in perfect condition! I can now happily change my rating to a well-deserved perfect 5, as they really are not only well designed and attractive, but effective. Thank you Amazon & Okllen.

I just got back into canning about a year ago and wanted to try and make my own sauerkraut. These weights fit perfectly in wide mouth canning jars to keep the sauerkraut immersed in the brine. The handle makes them easy to remove. Great product. Since this is my first attempt at sauerkeaut, if all goes well, I will be ordering more and making more of my own sauerkraut.

The glass weights are heavy & nice looking. It's great they have a little knob on top to hold. I gave some to a canning friend to help with her apple cider vinegar making. She loved them.

I purchased the glass weights to use with making fermented foods, especially pickled garlic! I make them in pint-sized jars and the weights are perfect for keeping the garlic down at the bottom. They are so easy to remove from the jar, easy to clean, and even easy to store when I'm not using them. They are sturdy so I don't worry about them breaking. I will be purchasing more if/when I need more!

As an avid fermentor, I had been purchasing my "pickle weights" from another, well-known company. But the price was becoming unrealistic, as well as their other items. (Inflation or greed?) I knew there had to be a better way. When I found these on Amazon, I was a bit hesitant because of unknown quality: which is paramount when preparing foods. Today I received my package. I was THRILLED when I opened it! The quality is not only AS GOOD as the well-known company- the weights were BEAUTIFUL! They have little glass FLOWERS on top of the fermenting weights! What a sweet and wonderful surprise! And these will be even easier to remove from the fermented foods when it is time by simply picking them up by the lovely little glass flower "handles!" These glass fermentation weights do their job of keeping my pickled red onions and assorted peppers submerged, but let’s be honest: trying to grip them with tongs when they're slippery and wet feels like an Olympic sport. While they’re a definite upgrade from my previous set, which could double as a medieval torture device, those little handles could use a design rethink. They function as needed, but every time I go to retrieve them, it’s a battle of wills between me and my slippery friends. Still, they’re helping my fermenting game—just with a bit of extra finger acrobatics involved!

Like the ease of gripping the top. Like that when will get borrowed they are not like anyone else's, loose a lot that way! Work as well as two other types I have.Would buy again preferentially over what iI have; one of which is very difficult to grasp when wet.
