Who has not ever felt like slapping the guy who blocks your way when you try to pass him? Who has not blamed the problems of society on politicians? To the officials? To those who hide behind "I'm just doing my job"? Faced with impotence, who has not thought about the possibility of taking the law into their own hands? Well, thanks to the imagination of Damián Szifrón, his intelligent hand in direction, the impeccable (Argentinean) cast and an essential dose of humor, the viewer will be able to recreate six stories resolved based on courage, anger and ... what usually comes with that irrational feeling, madness. Fortunately, and by making the film score a lot of points, it will also show the consequences… which don't have to be moralizingHowever. Among the six stories of Wild Tales, apart from the obvious "bad milk" that all of them have, there is nothing in common except the aforementioned. The same characters do not exist, they do not intersect in any of the stories, they share the genre, that funny bad temper that sometimes distresses and, if you think a little more carefully, becomes horrifying ... period. So it is difficult to conceive it as a movie ... but it does not influence the experience too much, except that it is easy to anticipate and wait for the prompt resolution of conflicts to make way for the next story.The cast, all of them, are incredible in each of their stories. Everyone reacts as one would expect for each type of situation that can go from an uncomfortable moment to the most desperate that can be imagined, while continuing to go through passages that, very well justified, are also absolutely absurd... and even so the interpretation of none it does not scale in its reactions nor does it stand out like fish out of water. All flow in its extreme plot full of turbulent waters. Everyone reacts in a way that is close and perfectly understandable to anyone... that's how we are (or could be) crazy.Do not hesitate. Let yourself be surprised by this anthological short films mix and let yourself be carried away, to the extent that each story allows, for an afternoon of fury... if it seems the most sensible thing to do.Drama and Dark Humor at its best, risky, full of intentions and technically praiseworthy.

A great film

It's not often I can genuinely say I had fun with a movie, and Wild Tales delivered on that front.It had me chuckling with the very first (and shortest) tale, which set the tone nicely for what was to follow.Every tale starts out like any avarage day, with everyone going about their business as normal (or celebrating a 'perfect' traditional big Spanish wedding - a tale saved for last), before we witness just how swiftly things can change, like the calm before the storm.It's a riot.

Unlike most anthology movies, these are all done by the same director, which should give the segments more consistency than usual - right? Wrong! The six stories are all varying lengths, and wildly different in their tone, ‘enjoyability’, and humour. The shorter, punchier ideas are great but the longer ones in the second half all feel dragged out. With the throughline being ‘revenge’ they’re all quite dark with varying degrees of gallows / black humour.Stylistically though, they’re all meticulously directed, with dozens of striking and stand-out shots. The acting is also rock solid, with a lot of familiar faces from 'World Cinema'. It also walks a very tight line between reality and a tiny sprinkle of magic / surrealism - the obvious comparison being something like The Twilight Zone - but this doesn't go near full on fiction. I really enjoyed the first half of this, but as the stories go forward, they get far too serious (and less funny).Overall, Wild Tales is a decent film with some great ideas, that suffers the same problem as most anthology pictures: the quality of each section is completely different.Score: 6.5/10

Half a dozen wonderful tales!I was hesitant at first - despite a trusted pal urging me to watch this film - due to (shameful to admit how sad I am) it being in a foreign language with subtitles. I was wrong to hesitate and am now raving as he did. Its a great great film.Lots of action but in a carefully measured way (probably a bit too graphic for the '15' classification in my view). The acts of revenge that make the common theme of the film are never quite what you are expecting.The story with the car drivers (see the trailer on You Tube) is unbelievably great - I both laughed and almost hid behind the sofa.The wedding scenes make you cringe and laugh all at the same time.Heartily recommended - even if you think you don't like films with subtitles!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this series of well-told short stories, though violence runs through many and may not be for everyone.

Fantástica película!

One of my favourite Argentinian films. Great stories of revenge and the wild side of ordinary looking human beings.

der argentinische Episodenfilm "Wild Tales" wurde 2014 von Damian Szifron inszeniert und war im eigenen Land ein Riesenerfolg. Kein Kinostreifen hatte in Argentinien mehr Zuschauer, auch die Kritik war entzückt und so ging er ins Oscar-Rennen, wo er am Ende zu den glüclichen 5 nominierten Filme in der Kategorie "Bester Auslandsfilm" gehörte. "Wild Tales" musste sich aber vom polnischen Beitrag "Ida" geschlagen geben. Nichtsdestotrotz war auch die internationale Wertschätzung bei den Cineasten nicht mehr aufzuhalten.Alle 6 Episoden laufen unter dem großen Thema "Gewalt und Vergeltung" und auch der deutsche Zusatztitel "Jeder dreht mal durch" zeigt das schwarzhumorige Programm der Handlungen auf. Bei Episode 1 wirds sogar besonders aktuell und umso makabrer - in Großbritannien löste dieses Intro sogar heftige Kontroversen aus. Kein Wunder, denn man wird in "Pasternak" eindrücklich an den Absturz des GermanWings Flug 9525 erinnert. Hauptfiguren sind die Fluggäste Isabel (Maria Marull) und Salgado (Dario Grandinetti). Epsiode 2 "Die Ratten" führt den Zuschauer in einen menschenleeren Schnellimbiss. Dort unterhält sich die junge Kellnerin (Julieta Zilberberg) mit der Köchin (Rita Cortese) als plötzlich ein Gast (Cesar Bordon) auftaucht und mit dem hat die junge Frau noch ein Hühchen zu rupfen...Episode 3 "Der Stärkste" konfrontiert uns mit dem unerbittlichen Gesetz der Straße. Aus einem Streit zwischen zwei Autofahrern (Leonardo Sparaglia und Walter Donado) wird ein Kampf auf Leben und Tod. Episode 4 ist dem Bömbchen (Ricardo Darin) gewidmet, einem Sprengmeister mit Namen Simon Fisher. Auf ihn passt die berühmte HB Zigarettenwerbung mit dem "Halt mein Freund, wer wird denn gleich in die Luft gehen". "Der Vorschlag" nennt sich die Episode 5, die uns in die Luxusvilla des Multimillionärs Mauricio (Oscar Martinez) führt, dessen verwöhnter Sprößling eine Fahrerflucht begangen hat, bei der eine junge Mutter und ihr Kind getötet wurde. Doch Gefängnis würde sein junges, reiches Leben ruinieren - was liegt da näher als den Gärtner Jukio mit einer halben Million dazu zu bewegen, dass er die Tat zugibt. Unterstützt wird Maurico von seinem Freund und Anwalt (Osmar Nunez). Den Abschluß des Epsidenreigens bildet die Hochzeit von Ariel (Diego Gentile) und Romina (Erica Rivas), die durch Eifersucht völlig aus dem Ruder läuft...gleichzeitig ist dieser Abschluß vielleicht sogar die stärkste Sequenz unter all den anderen starken Geschichten, die Damian Szifron dem Zuschauer vorstellt. Der Film ist mit seinen 122 Minuten viel zu kurz, zumindest fühlt man dies so, wenn der Abspann kommt Produziert wurde von Pedro Almodovar in Zusammenarbeit mit seinem Bruder Agustin. Das Gesamtwerk mit großem Soundtrack (u.a. Bobby Womack) ist überaus homogen und die chronologische Reihenfolge der Geschichte auch irgendwie gut durchdacht. Denn auf zwei eher radikale Horrorgeschichten mit durchgedrehten Piloten und Rattengift folgen der ultimative Nervenkrieg auf der Straße, der zeigt, dass Horror und Alltag dicht beieinander liegen und folgerichtig in die moderne Zeit des heutigen Menschen einmündet - zwei sehr zynische Gesellschaftssatiren gehen auf Burokratie und gesellschaftliche Rangfolgen ein. Am Ende dann die große Liebesgeschichte, die vor der endgültigen Erfüllung erst mal alles zerstören muss, was zerstört werden kann - nur dann stellt sich vielleicht ein HappyEnd ein und der Zuschauer kann mit viel Sarkasmus, aber auch ein bissel Hoffnung aus dem Kinosessel aussteigen.

各ストーリーが、出だしを観てると何となく次の展開が想定通りに。そこからがここ映画のブラックユーモアの始まり。えっ、そこまで、やるのかとドキッとさせられ、最後にはあまりの櫃こさとブラックさに笑いが込み上げてきました。
