Wedge
The blade is really good but they don’t dry the wedge nor make it compact and it starts breaking after like a half an hour of swinging,Not worth 40 dollars but the blade is still nice

I split hardwood right out of the box
The media could not be loaded. I bought this axe for a general all purpose camp axe. I tried it out on a few hickory logs and it did the job. Nice weight for a mid size axe. It came with a nice sheath which had a loop to attach to your pack.

Thing literally broke in two swings.
Extremely vexed by the fact this axe broke after a couple swings on an oak tree. I would have just liked to recieve a refund but I'm not going through the hassle of packaging this thing for it to be glued up and sold to some other chump. Don't buy this piece of junk.

Solid, basic, mid-length, hickory-handled axe. Perfect beginner/training axe.
This is a basic hickory-handled axe. About as simple as they come. There is nothing unusual about this, and it's exactly what you expect it to be.This is on the lighter-weight side of things at 2.25 lbs. And at 27.5" overall length it is a bit shorter than your typical woodsman's axe. Certainly longer than a hatchet and still fully capable of felling trees and splitting rounds, but not nearly as long as most axes. This is the perfect axe for a beginner/younger teen to lean proper axe handling and safety (with proper instruction of course). Being a little smaller and lighter it can be more easily-controlled by those who are just learning.Would I want to spend all day splitting rounds with this? Heck no, I'll take a 10-lb maul on a 36" handle for that. But if my son wants to earn his BSA Totin' Chip badge, this is perfect for learning the skills.

Axe for ants
This thing is basically a hatchet. I should have done more research on it. It’s way too short.

A well constructed ax
My grandmother would have given anything to have an ax like this. The handle is well formed for your grip. The head is sharp and set well into the wood handle. The had feels well balanced with the handle. A nice cover for the head comes with the ax. This is a quality tool that will last for years if not left in the rain. It appears the head will easily sharpen. I feel this is a reasonable price for such a quality tool.
