You might not know you need one of these, but you really do!
Someone at work saw me ramming a circular file into a hole the other week trying to deburr an end with the finesse of a blinfolded elephant, they showed me little deburring wand like this. It knocked a heck of a lot of time off the job and also provided a very neat and tidy finish, no fingers were smashed up either so i picked this up.It comes in a small plastic and cardboard pack nothing fancy other than the pack tells you it has a lifetime guarantee which is a very nice feature. The build is very nice, a smooth blue finish, evenly weighted and of a decent weight in hand, its nice and chunky and feels like it would last a long time, unsure if it would be a lifetime but we will see.The tool in operation is super easy, place inside the edge you wish to deburr, and whizz it across/around at an even pace with some pressure applied, you can see the tool do its work as metal strips away.I would say be careful as though its a satisfying action to undertake in so much as peeling superglue off your fingers is, you can very quickly end up with a misshaped lump of metal. Not that it happened to me, erm, but someone ended up with an egg where there once was a perfectly round circle....Its just a great little tool, saves time, built solidly, does a perfect job with some care applied and should last a very long time at a really sensible price point.Five stars.

The tool you didn't know you need
Excellent value for money and I can't believe I didn't own one sooner. Perfect for metal containment when you want to remove any sharp edges and do a decent job. Intially it feels wierd to use but once you have worked out the technique this will become an essential tool. Only negative is I have struggled to find decent replacement blades but you can file out any imperfections to extend the blades life. The blades are replaceable with this product but you only receive 1 blade with the tool.

Decent tool if you are in a rush or lost your main one
Body is plastic, not too weak but bit of pressure will crack it. Used it to deburr few pipes. Blade is good quality. Won't have long life if you press too hard. Bit overpriced for plastic body. Not cheap tool would pay £2-3 extra for metal body.

Worked well for a couple of small copper deburring jobs
I had 2 copper pipes to deburr for some DIY work so went for this over the circle pipe cutter style ones as I thought it would be useful for clearing up 3D prints too (it is pretty good for that). Works well, probably a bit more effort than the other type but still gets the job done. If it was just for pipe though I'd have probably stuck to the other type.

Lasts forever if you use it correctly!
I see a lot of reviews complaining about the poor quality of steel but these should last a very long time if used correctly. The trick is to grip both the copper pipe and the deburring tool close to where the cutting is happening, then apply a firm pressure and move the tool round in a circular motion so that the pen and the pipe are always parallel. Don't deburr this at an angle, keep both the pen and pipe straight relative to each other. Also try to keep the same amount of force all the way round the pipe as people tend to use less force at the top and this causes problems.Trust me there is a technique for using it and you will get better with practice. I have deburred over 500 copper pipes at 28mm with the same blade and still going (I have had to sharpen using a diamond file but only about every 100 uses). Invest in a fine Diamond Tapered File (I recommend Trend), they are not that expensive and if you sharpen your blades you will get many more uses out of them. You can also pack pen handle up with cloth and duct tape to make it more comfortable to use.

Not quite what I expected
Brought this so I could tidy up the edges of my resin stuff easier. I didn’t know the blade spins around so this makes it a bit more difficult to use. It would be better if it locked in a position as it can spin round when trying to use it and the only way to hold it in place is by putting your finger there

Silverline 282388 avgradningsverktyg, 140 mm

The media could not be loaded.
