LOVE LOVE LOVE!
LOVE this casserole dish! I purchased this as a gift to myself (!) after receiving a bonus from work after 20 years service, so I wanted something that I wouldn't necesarily purchase "every day" and would also be something to keep and use for many years to come. I used to worry about how heavy Le Creuset is, but to be honest, it's not overly heavy when you use come to use it. I am so happy with my purchase and cannot wait to use it again soon!

Durable and brilliant to cook in, both on the hob and in the oven
I bought this to replace its predecessor, which I had for 15 years. During that time I used it many times each week, for casseroles, curries, soups etc. It would still be going strong if I hadn’t forgotten it on the hob for so long that it literally couldn’t be saved. My Le Creuset saucepan set is still going strong. It was a wedding present... and I’ve been married over 36 years. The initial outlay for pans of this quality may seem high, but it would cost a huge amount more to buy multiple cheaper sets through the years, so it’s actually very cost effective.

Stunning and long lasting piece of kit
I was surprised when first using it that the floured meat stuck and needed a lot of turning. However, it browned super quick and all that 'crustiness' was absorbed into the sauce once veg and stock were added. The beef bourguinon (sp) cooked on an extremely low heat on the hob so it certainly will save on electric in the long run. It looks beautiful and takes pride of place on my worktop which I usually like to keep bare.

Classy le creuset! Never fails to please
Le Creuset never fail to please... Their products are always classy and of the highest quality. I bought this as a gift for Christmas for my partner.. Its an ideal size for both an average family meal but deep enough to cook in larger quantities.Sadly I chipped the lid within days of getting it... Slight bash whilst putting it up on a metal shelf which was sad. They do chip easily. There is I believe an insurance you can buy with the product though as they are quite pricy to say the least. I got ours in the sale at a reduced price which was worth waiting for.

Second to none...
After 25 years of service we finally decided that we had to retire our old Le Creuset due to it getting a chip in the enamel on the bottom of the pot.We bought the Denby equivalent but it just wasn't a Le Creuset, so that ended up with my daughter and we bought this one. There are two of us and the 25cm is more than big enough, it is easily big enough to serve 4 adults.A medium sized chicken will fit in the pot as will a medium sized lamb shoulder or 3 to 4 lamb shanks. We use the shoulder regularly for one of our favourite dishes, Greek Lamb. You may get a half lamb leg to fit but a full leg (with bone in) is too long.Good results are achieved whether cooking on the hob or in the oven. These Le Creuset casseroles are really easy to clean after a quick soak and come up looking like new.I can say that the colour looks even better up close than it does online, I'm pleased we opted for this one.Yes, they are expensive, but as my partner said 'You buy cheap, you buy twice'!If we get another 20+ years of service from this we will be happy bunnies!

Wish I had bought one sooner!
I have deliberated purchasing a Le Creuset casserole dish for many years. I was never quite sure that I could justify the high price tag. However, this dish has absolutely transformed our mealtimes. It truly is worth every single penny.I use it for everything from stove-top soups, to one pot roast chicken dishes and everything in between. It looks stylish, is so incredibly easy to clean and cooks food evenly whilst keeping all of the flavours trapped inside. The main thing that swung it for me was seeing my mother’s 5 year old casserole dish. It was a cheaper model but was still fairly expensive. When she bought it 5 years ago it was stunning and looked comparable to Le Creuset. After 5 years of light use, the paint has almost entirely faded and chipped.I believe that you truly do get what you pay for with Le Creuset. I am hoping to pass these dishes to my young daughters when they set up home for themselves. This size of casserole is perfect for large chickens. It is very heavy, so might not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
