Does this teapot have a plunger like the Assam teapot or a coffee cafetière?

Hi, there is no plunger, the centre pod holds all tea leaves and infuses tea without doing anything. The pod is kept separate in middle of teapot and therefore from spout to pour. It pours without any leaves coming through.

Does this item come with a Bodum Scoop?

It was some time since I bought this and can't remember. I use a Forlife teapot now which is also very good.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes - I put it in the dishwasher several times and was fine. Unrelated to the dishwasher is that the glass is rather thin and it did crack making it unusable. Bodum warranty doesn't cover cracks so I was having to replace.

Can I take the filter out once the tea is as strong as I want and put the lid back on?

Yes. You can take the filter out and replace the lid. I highly recommend this tea pot. We use it every day with fresh mint.
