Absolutely Fantastic
I've had this for three years now and has always worked as advertised/expected. I use this for my trailer as well as my Yakima HoldUp 2 bike rack. There is virtually no noise and I've never lost the lock like others have reported. I highly recommend this to anybody that wants a secure, quiet, hitch. Especially with today's uni body vehicles that seem to amplify every noise from the hitch.Update: 11 years since we bought it... has been moved to our motorhome that we use to tow a trailer with a car on it. Still working great!!! For those that have lost the lock..... You must be sure it's securely locked before you tighten the bolt.

Eliminates Annoying Rattles and Provides Security
This anti rattle locking drawbar pin replacement is awesome. The nut is retained inside your hollow shank ball mount. Screw the pin in hand tight and slide the lock in place. Lastly, tighten the pin. No rattles and it makes the ball mount harder to steal. The traditional hitch pin and spring clip are much cheaper, quicker to install or remove and might be the proper choice in some towing situations. If security and eliminating annoying rattles are important to you, use this locking pin.

Little expensive but works great!
I was gifted a bike carrier that goes on the hitch and has a nut built in so a regular hitch pin didn't fit. Ordered this one and it's the exact right thread and works fantastic. Tightens the carrier so it doesn't make any noise when hitting rough roads, and it locks easy. Not sure how sturdy the lock is but honestly, who tries to steal a locked bike carrier at a camp site or a hiking trail parking lot?I felt it was a tad expensive for what it is but like I said, it works really well, so I'm a happy camper.

Quiet Ride Works
I recently purchased the Softride QuietRide Hitch Pin and used it pulling an empty trailer 250 miles and returned with it loaded. It worked as advertised - almost.I was very pleased with the quality of the item when I removed it from the packaging. The fit and finish is excellent and I expect this will last a very long time. After tightening the bolt I installed the lock onto the end of the shaft and when it clicked I new it was locked in. I had read that some people thought it was locked in place only to find out the lock had fallen off down the road.Although the hitch pin did work as advertised and eliminated the hitch slap and noise it did loosen up somewhere on the return trip. Thankfully it did not fall off, but the bolt loosened up enough to allow the hitch to get sloppy inside the receiver again. Fortunately the lock held firm on the bolt pin so the bolt could not back all the way off but I had lost the tight quiet hitch. I had fully tightened the bolt at installation so I am surprised it worked itself loose. I still reommend purchasing this product but I would be very careful to retighten the bolt after a hundred miles or so and would keep a close eye on it. Maybe they need to use a ni-lock locking nut in addition to the lockwasher.

Good solution - perfect replacement
Lost the lock off my old softride aluminum hitch after 10-15 years and several rear end collisions. Was rear ended yet again last week and finally lost the lock. Found this, thank goodness. It screws into the hitch perfectly and locks!!! Back in business!Btw, I'm unsure why softride stopped making the aluminum hitch but if they ever do offer it or if you see one... Buy it immediately! Best hitch I've ever owned or seen.

Well made but does not fit Saris Bones rack
This thing seems indestructible but unfortunately it does not fit the Saris Bones bike rack.

concept is great but it failed
overall concept is great... they left nice flat contact points everything is perfect to take the hitch load... the big problem is The locking mechanism. it pulls off with minimal effort just like the video. I can click it on and off the pin without the key...

Helps to eliminate "clanking"
Oh the savior to the annoying rattling and clanking sound coming from your hitch while accelerating or breaking. This has been in use for hauling my Runaway camper and has saved countless hours of having to turn the radio up. It should be noted that I use it in conjunction with a curt rocker ball which had solved part of the problem but not all on its own. The combination has been the answer to the problem and even results in a smoother ride (before this purchase I had used a different hitch ball mount tightener that did not fit on my newer vehicle. The insert fits properly and stays in place. When properly tightened it holds the ball mount snugly in the receiver eliminating the slack that results in excessive noise. Highly recommended.
