Why does these seem to be recycled cartridges? Whose ink?
When loaded the printer, and then the computer, shows a message to the effect that "This is a genuine HP cartridge that has been used before". But it is sold as new. Has it been refilled? If so, with whose ink? I have no objection to using a recycled cartridge provided that I am told what it is and there is an appropriate price abatement, but I wonder if this is a recycled cartridge which has been filled with third party ink? If so, the product is misadvertised, because it purports to be a full HP product on the website and on the packaging. Having said that, the cartridges have worked in test printing, and the quality of the printing seems good. The printer acknowledges them and reports on the ink levels in each cartridge, though the Supply Levels facility on the computer printer driver will not report the levels (is this sinister? - maybe not - I have had the same response on other genuine cartridges in other printers). The seller might like to respond to this.

Great - so why 1 star?
Cartridges work just fine. But I feel like I am being ripped off by what should, IMO, be an illegal practice by HP. Chipping their cartridges, updating firmware so compatible ink vendors cartridges don't work.HP makes me pay the same amount for one standard cartridge that others charge for a pack of 4 XL cartridges. Seems criminal to me because if I want my printer to work, I have to pay 1/3 of what I paid for the printer for HP ink!And this is because the 3rd party cartridges simply stop working after a while due to "wrong chip".I have worked in IT for 40+ years, 3 times for different manufacturers, been a strong advocate for and recommended HP printers to friends and family but now I no longer recommend HP, period, and I have bought my last ever HP printer.
