So, this is obviously an aftermarket Chinese clone and not a Tecumseh OEM, but it is BETTER. The old carb on my Ranch King (MTD) 8hp Tecumseh was the "ECO" version with no adjustments. This Dosens carb is fully adjustable, and that is what you want, trust me. This carb installed perfectly and was a direct replacement in fitment. Here's a tip -- remove the muffler (3 bolts) and it is a lot simpler to make the swap. The mounting holes for the shroud bracket were not threaded, but the old screws were self-tapping so that was not an issue. The shroud on my machine had a label on it that covered a couple of holes... the holes that will give access to make adjustments to the carb after its all put back together. I just ran a drill bit through the label and opened the holes up.I installed the carb, pushed the button on the bottom of the bowl until gas ran out, and it started on the first pull. I adjusted the fuel mixture screw (on the bottom of the bowl in the center) to get full power, and that is why this carb is better than OEM because you have that adjustment -- otherwise you have to live with the low power output of the ECO carb. The price of this carb was crazy low, and it paid for itself last weekend clearing out after a big snow storm. I am so impressed with it that I ordered another one today to keep on hand as a spare.

Old snowblower wouldn't even start with original carb. After installing this it started on the first pull. I had to adjust the high speed jet a little bit, as to be expected. Now it runs great sounds like new. The cleaning tool is handy if you don't have one already, as well as the filter. The fuel line doesn't fit anything on the snowblower but will keep it for future projects.As for those who say that the side mount bolt holes need to be tapped, thats true but your original screws from your old carb are self tapping so no need for a tap set.

I mucked around with my old carb, disassembling it and trying to clean every nook and cranny. I finally realized that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze, and ordered this. I bolted it on, started the engine, watched a couple videos on tuning, and tweaked it. My snowblower now runs well.

I bought this for an old Tecumseh L head that needed a carb rebuild. The kit plus a new float was almost 2x the price of this carb. It bolted right on but I did have to thread the holes for the cover mount. I only had to make a slight adjustment to the main jet at full throttle just to smooth up the acceleration from idle. The machining was great and the gasket surfaces were perfectly smooth. I really dont know how they make these for this price.

I've been battling the stock carb on my very old tiller. The problem is a new american carb was going to be $70-$80...which is more than the tiller is worth. Was skeptical that this Chinese carb would be any good. Put it on in 5 minutes, tiller fired right up and a quick tune and tilled the whole garden with no problems. Hated not buying American but can't beat this price for what you get.

Carb fits well on the engine. The problem incurred was with the choke lever was too short and hit the air cleaner housing. Had to bend the lever up to clear the housing. Worked ok then. Also noted the choke position was the reverse of the original, but was minor, just marked choke position on lever. After adjustments, the engine runs well. Gas bowl dump valve is a welcome addition over the original carb. This was ordered for a Troy Built Tomahawk Pro Chipper with an 8HP Tecumseh HM80 engine.

Quick to the house. New with everything it said you'd have. Install was easy had to tune it a little as you will with any new carb. Well worth it don't mess around cleaning the old one chuck it get this puppy for a good deal and makes cleaning a whole lot easier with the cleaning kit included come a few years from now when you may need to clean it for a tune up. (could always keep old carb and clean and swap out every other year)
