Setup guide for Aircove Router
Ok, These routers can be either straight forward to setup and use or they will not connect. Firstly these routers should come in a black box, the box will have an Aircove ExpressVPN RED sleeve cover around the box, and finally the whole package should be sealed and wrapped in the clingfilm clear wrap, unopened straight from the factory. If your router does not come in this state and looks opened and used. Then i would 100% send it back because if you have setup problems, then you don't know whether the router is faulty or your home setup is the issue. Can be a real headache.Next you have to look at your ISP router that the internet company gave you. Go into it's setup and turn off the wireless router and router functionality. You just want it to behave as a modem.Next you want to connect your ExpressVPN router via its internet port to a free port on the router that you now have setup as a modem. Some ISP routers have a special port you can only use to connect to another router. Others don't care. You can connect to any port. Most will allow you to connect to any port.Next go into the Aircove router SETUP menu via its wireless username and password. You can connect via a LAN cable but it does not make a difference. When you open up the browser you should type in expressvpnrouter.com or 192.168.132.1. This will lead you into the wizard that will guide you through the setup. Now this is where you can have problems. As the wizard goes through, the first thing it will do is try to connect to the internet via your ISP modem port. If it succeeds then your in business. You can carry on and complete the installation and you are protected by ExpressVPN (Make sure you login in and turn the VPN ON within the router SETUP menu.) The ExpressVPN router light will go from a flashing light to a steady ON light. If it does not connect, Then first check the Aircove router AircoveOS software version. I have found ver 4.7.5.4443 works, is stable and allows the router to connect to the internet. In fact i had a router with ver 4.0 OS SW. It did not connect to the internet. I updated it to 5.x.x (latest). It did not connect to the internet. I then updated the OS SW to 4.7.5.4443. The router connected to the internet and worked correctly. Therefore if your router has older OS SW. It is worth updating the OS SW to the latest version 5.x.x. This can be done within the router setup SW. If this does not work. Then download 4.7.5.4443 OS SW. This version should get the router connected to the internet. The file can be downloaded from ExpressVPN website link for the 4.7.5.4443 OS SW.One final point if you are using two ExpressVPN Aircove routers like i am. Then the "IP address" and "First client IP address" cannot be the same on both routers. Both router's will come with the default IP address 192.168.132.1 and First client IP address 192.168.132.10. You can go into the router setup menu and go to menu option Network Settings, then go into Local Network settings. Then change the "IP address" under Aircove IP setup title, from 192.168.132.1 to for example 192.168.142.1. Under DHCP server title, the "First client IP address" will automatically change to 192.168.142.10. Save the setting and away you go. Remember when you log back into the second ExpressVPN Aircove router. Its IP address for access to the SETUP menu will now be 192.168.142.1 NOT 192.168.132.1.Overall the routers have been excellent, with good speed and connection. Within the SETUP menu there are also options to check the router is protecting you. Hope this guide helps those of you struggling to setup the router.

Easy Setup, works with Mesh and other routers, comes with plug for UK, US and EU
I'm using it in Europe to change connection location and keep using my subscriptions from before moving country. My set up is:1) fibre2) router from service provider3) Aircove4) Mesh WiFiInstallation is simple:1) plug in Aircove - it comes with an electric socket for US, UK and EU2) connect to it via wifi or cable on your computer/phone/tablet3) visit its short URL to customise what you want, like:· the wifi name and password· the name of your devices connected to it· which connected devices will connect to VPN when you turn it on and which won't be affected by itInterfaceIf you're using a smartphone or tablet, there is no app to access the router, but if you add the web page to your home screen (share button), it will feel like an app.As your connected devices appear on the list, you might not recognise their names so I recommend connecting them one by one and renaming them as they appear, so that you know which is which between, say, the TV, the game console, your work laptop, the tablet or the phone. To move them from a category (say, "connect to VPN") to another (say, "never on VPN"), just press/click and hold on the device name on the list, and drag it left or right.Connection SpeedBecause connecting to a different location literally means your internet signal going to THAT location and back to your place, you WILL lose speed, but it's not bad, but even before we switched to 900 Mbps fibre, when we were on a 76 Mbps connection and the VPN cut it in half, we could still stream in 4K 🙂If you're testing the speed, I recommend trying different locations, as some could be closer to you and maintain greater speed.WiFiIf you just use the WiFi from your Aircove, then it will recognise each device individually and for each you can select if you want it to connect to VPN or not. However, as I use Mesh WiFi, the Aircove only sees the Mesh WiFi connected to it, it does not see the devices connected to the Mesh WiFi. Therefore if you want to choose what to connect to VPN and what not to, with Mesh WFi this will happen at the WiFi level. So on the ExpressVPN menu, I have 1 device for the whole Mesh WiFi network, it's all or nothing in that case. What's Mesh WiFi, you may ask. If you struggle with WiFi signal in certain places in your home, I recommend it if you can afford it (great Christmas present!), you have one pod per location where you want to expand the signal, it broadcasts its own WiFi signal and each pod you buy will expand that same signal further, meaning that, contrary to WiFi extenders where if you're talking on WhatsApp it will cut and connect you to the extender, the Mesh Wifi is the same signal everywhere.Separate RouterI have a separate router connected to the Aircove, for the TV and the 2 game consoles because I couldn't figure out how else to connect 3 devices on the 1 network cable running from the Aircove in the house entrance to the TV unit in the living room, but the Aircove still recognises each device individually through that other router which is great. If you're "upgrading" with Aircove from an older router where you had custom-installed ExpressVPN, and want to use both on the same network, then I recommend looking for the original firmware of your older router and bringing it back to its original set up. Else the two ExpressVPN routers won't work well together, you'll never know which the "app" is accessing and it's a nightmare.

Utterly useless - can't even do the basics right
This is a very expensive piece of junk. You cannot even set up a wireless printer to the router. There isn't even a WPS button! Their tech support is equally useless - thanking me for my suggestion for a future feature. The product manager who let this one out of the building deserves defenestration.

Very fast and easy to install
I used to have a linksys with expressVpn firmware on it and it was very very slow comparing to this. The only issue I with say at the moment is that is a little pricey.

Need some help
The router itself looks great however as soon as I swap it with my old router my speed drops from 90mbs to 8mbs and this is before trying to using a different location. I am trying to get some help from express vpn and hope they can resolve the issue.
