Snowflake pattern heaven
Absolutely Brilliant Book - It can be used by complete beginners to Advanced Crocheters.. The layout is so clear and straightforward. Instructions are given both in written and diagram form. Each page is labelled easy through to advanced and the level of detail in the pictures helps to ensure you are crocheting the design correctly. Each pattern is made in a cotton thread with approximate sizes given but, if you fancy a challenge, each pattern could be made up in any yarn you fancy with the appropriate sized hook. Scarves, cushion covers, waistcoats, bags, tablecloths -- the list could go on and on.If you're dithering about purchasing this book then go for it - it will be money well spent.

Good range, graded for difficult
I received this book in error but liked it enough on first sight to buy it. A great way to use up odds and ends of yarn or combine into larger projects. Each snowflake comes with clear text and graphical instructions and an estimate of the amount of yarn needed. Designs progress from Beginner to Advanced. There's a kind of visual library of all the designs at the front which is cross-referenced to the pattern instructions and there's another picture of the finished item with the instructions. Hard to see how anyone can go wrong really.

Fabulous book with easy to follow instructions
I love this book! I am fairly new to crochet and prefer to make quick projects. I have been crocheting these snowflakes throughout the year and made Christmas cards out of them for a more personal touch. The snowflakes come with written instructions and diagrams. I tend to flit between the two. I think having made many of them I would now be confident to create some of my own design. If in doubt, give it a go! A beautifully presented book.

Love this book
Bought this as a gift for a friend. Unfortunately she never received it because I started to look through it, then I decided to 'have a go' thinking they would be WAY beyond my very basic capability. And that was it! I was hooked (please pardon the pun!). I love snowflakes anyway, they are so beautiful and after going out and buying some thin, white yarn with glittery bits in it, the snowflakes I croched were just as lovely. Being a beginner I found some of the patterns impossible to follow so had to look at the pictures and follow those but because you are given the option to use both its a win win situation. Would DEFINITELY recommend this book, in fact I may buy another one for the original intended recipient!

100 Snowflakes
There are 100 snowflakes in this book, but they are more chunkier than snowflakes I would use for a tree. Also the snowflakes have been made in all different colours therefore you don't think snowflake it reminds you of granny squares. However, the author has made a blizzard scarf which is very pretty, and this is how I would use these patterns...to make up items like shawls, scarves, and table cloths. I guess you could use a finer thread to make them more snowflake like. Having said that, I would recommend this book to anyone, even a novice, as there are excellent charts and instructions to follow, so anyone could use these patterns whatever your experience. They are English instructions but it also has the American terminology, and the ideas for using these snowflakes are excellent, from gift tags to embellishments, the possibilities are endless.

Would recommend.
Nice clear instructions. Patterns get more difficult as you progress through the book. Great for someone who's been crocheting for a little while and wants to move on from squares and straight rows. With a little imagination you can use the snowflakes to make all sorts of things.

Not without errors
The book is nicely laid out and the patterns are quite short and quick to work up but some have errors and the repeats aren’t always correctly written out. I’m an experienced crocheter and prefer written patterns to charts so found this rather frustrating.

very pretty, i had used DK sparkle wool - lovely
so ideal for beginer crocheters, lovely patterns able to do at least 2 of them :) but you can adapt and change the patterns of the snowflakes to if one is a little confused still. very pretty, i had used DK sparkle wool - lovely, but if you want 'lighter' snowflakes - use size 20 or smaller thread count
