Very strong
These were very easy to put in, of very good quality, and are very strong. They are so strong I only had to use one, and I was able to save the other one for later. When I put both on, the deck lid opened much faster than I wanted it to. I believe that these are well worth the money, as like I said before, I was able to save one for later (saving money).By the way, they fit perfect and went in with an absolutely no problems.

Best Hydraulic Pistons for your rv camper!!
Just the right weight for our 5th wheel rv camper queen size bed platform, easy to install and these work real good , great value for the money. Bed is much easier to lift now and bed stays up to get to the storage underneath bed .

Used one for floor hatch door-worked perfectly!
We made a hatch to cover the hole in the floor of our loft area, which leads to a set of stairs. We needed something that would help open the hatch when your coming up the stairs, but allow it to close completely when the hatch is shut. You would think that finding the right strut, prop, lift, etc would be a simple search....no. It was a horrendous search to figure out the best one to use. They want you to have all kinds of information. Like: what does the hatch weigh, what amount of force is needed, what is the angle of lift etc. All kinds of numbers that just confused the heck outta me!We finally took a chance on this one. Here's the numbers that were most important to us:We needed to know that when the hatch door is shut-what size is the space where the strut will be (fully depressed size). So the opening of our "hole" (where the strut would go) is the "strut depressed size" We left about 6" to give us room for error. [This is called the "compressed length" that a strut would need to be-this one is 11.8in (300mm)]What size is longest that we could use when the hatch door is open? We mounted the fat part to the hatch door and the skinny rod part to the frame of our hole. When the rod is fully extended, it's length is 19.7in (500mm). Again we left a little room for error. Now, we didn't weigh the door, but I guess it's about 50lbs. I have no ideal what the pounds of force needed to open & hold it open is.We didn't want one not strong enough to open and that would wear out too quickly or one that would sling the heck out of the door either. This one has a force of 100 Lbs. We just guessed here, but it worked perfectly. This comes in a pack of two. (I figured that's great, in case we needed an extra or screwed one up.)We used only one of them on the hatch door and it works perfectly. You barely push (or pull) on it then the strut does the rest of the work and lifts it open, then holds it open until you push (or pull) it shut (which doesn't take a lot of pressure either). We now have a back up on for when this one wears out. It has been used a lot and so far so good! When you mount it-it needs to be in the fully open mode and straight up and down (meaning the brackets need to be exactly across from each other. We mounted the top of the strut on the door and lined up where it would land on the bottom frame of the floor opening. Once mounted, it will depress easily. (But you cannot depress these by hand-we tried.)We used JR Products BR-1020 10mm Flat Gas Spring Mounting Brackets (2 of them) to mount it. They have all kinds of brackets-some with edges, etc. This one is flat and enabled up to place it perfectly where we needed it. http://smile.amazon.com/JR-Products-BR-1020-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B000BRF38Q?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_6In the picture you can see the gas prop installed on our hatch door. We used regular sturdy hinges that we mounted on top of the hatch, but you could use piano hinges also. We cut out a hole to make it easier to grab and for my son (it's in his loft bedroom) to have a "lookout" to see who's wanting in. You could also easily just do an inset pull if you wanted.I hope this review helps someone avoid all the aggravation we had trying to figure it out!

The good news was that the old lift supports contained info ...
The fiberglass bed cover on my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 has a pair of these gas filled lift supports that were no longer lifting the cover when the lock was disengaged. The good news was that the old lift supports contained info on the brand, model, and lift capacity. Removal of the old lift supports was simple because they use the ball, socket, and clip method of attachment. One thing that was not clear was whether the thin part of the support should be at the top or the bottom. No instructions were included, so I looked at several pictures on the Internet to clarify this issue. Unfortunately, some were one way while others were the other. I picked the way in which most of the pictures showed the lift supports, which was with the thin part of the support down and the thicker part up. They will attach either way but I have no idea if this matters. When the lift supports arrived by mail, they were put into my mail box with about 4" hanging out the front and with the door open to allow this. Fortunately, I was watching for the delivery, so was able to bring it into the house without incident. On examining the tube that these ship in, I saw what looked like oil stains on the outside of the tube. The US Mail had attached a stick-on label that apologized for the "damage". On further examination, I found no oil stains inside the tube and the lift supports were dry when removed from the shipping tube. I can only guess that some other package had leaked something onto my package.Since my truck was already set up to use these lift supports, swapping in the new ones took only a few minutes. I was happy to see that they worked perfectly and will lift the bed cover when the latch is disengaged. Since I did this by myself, I used a short folding step ladder in the bed to hold the bed cover in the proper position for the installation. This worked well.I would recommend this product to a family member or friend. They are very reasonably priced and do the job as intended.Suspa C16-08054 C1608054 20" Gas Prop, Quantity (2), Force is 100 Lbs Per Prop and Force Per Set is 200 Lbs, Camper Rear Window, Tonneau Cover Lift Supports, Window Lift Support, Struts

Really good
Used these for our camper. Replaced the original struts that lift the bed to access under bed storage. Wish we would have done this years ago! Functions so much better!
