Nice looking, great capacity, easy to use

This is great for us “we don’t need to back up” idiots! I was getting an old iMac ready for re-sale, but removed a bit more than I should from the system and couldn’t re-load the OS back from Apple (they appear to have ditched the High Sierra OS completely!). Anyway, having tried for several weeks (not full time I hasten to add) to get things working again, I have thought as to how else one might get this thing to work: when in doubt ask Amazon! And there it was - a very reasonably priced solution on a stick. The USB drive comes with a brief description as to how to load the system, and away we go! Seems just fine. Five stars!!

worked very well, instructions were a little off i ended up googling it, might be because the mini mac i had came from cex and they left it completely wiped clean and the apple server was unable to install mountain lion so i ordered this usb stick. Being a 2011 mini mac this was the final os for that product, i put the stick in pressed the on button then held down the alt key and then it gave me the option from there to install high sierra . highly rated product and came so fast! I ordered at 11pm at night and had it by 1pm the next day. thank you for saving my day.

I have a MacBook Air late 2010, which originally came with Snow Leopard. I recently ran into an issue which required me to restore back to factory settings (Snow Leopard). Great OS, but unusable for internet access these days due to lack of modern browser support, serious security risks, etc. Tried to upgrade to any newer OSX/MacOS versions (Lion, Mavericks, El Capitan, etc.). However, Apple has expired the security certs on many older OS versions and this prevented me from upgrading. I spent hours researching online and trying various workarounds incl. setting the system clock back to an earlier date before the certs had expired. Long story short, nothing worked. I purchased this item because High Sierra is the last officially supported OS for my MBA and I had no other reasonable path to upgrade. I followed the helpfully included instructions, held my breath, and booted up. I can confirm that both clean install and upgrade option worked as expected as of 25th Jan 2023.
