TC17 camera works as described
This TC17 camera does not have WiFi or Bluetooth. The manual is to go Facebook which was a bit confusing! So I looked up some previous reviews and it said to download the Ucon app. Insert the trial SIM card, turn it on, hit the reset button next to the sim. Wait for the blue light, create account and scan the camera with the app. Done. The trial SIM card ended in a couple of days so I got a Mint Mobile with the cheapest plan for $180 a year. Can now mount the camera anywhere with cell service which is awesome. The camera is charged with a solar panel so no need to fuss about batteries.Video quality is clear and has night vision plus a spot light built in - Pretty cool. Overall I am happy with this trail camera and would recommend.

This trail cam withstood 100 MPH winds! Has great PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) and images
The media could not be loaded. This trail cam is, by far, the best trail camera I have purchased. The resolution, both day and night, is so clear. It surpasses my home security cameras in clarity and sound monitoring. I decided to use it as a security camera for a property where my other security cameras couldn’t reach. I can access and rotate the camera through my phone (works with either Android or iPhone). It was incredibly easy to set up. I picked a place in the yard, attached it to the fence, set up the app, and was immediately able to view the site. The camera and solar panel just went through the worst storm I’ve ever been in (100 mph winds) and the camera and the panel were undamaged even though 4 sections of fencing were blown down. As the storm intensified, I was able to monitor the property for wind damage through the camera. I love being able to pan and tilt the lens to my preference. Be sure to move the camera with the app, not with your hand as the camera motor should not be moved with your hand. I’ve purchased several trail cams lately and this one is my favorite. It is well-built, has a long enough cord from the camera to the solar panel, and blends in beautifully with its surroundings. The night images are clear and can be seen in black and white (infrared) or in color (with white light setting). I appreciate being able to view the camera on my phone from anywhere. I use AT&T but this camera also works with cellular providers T-Mobile and Verizon. I would highly recommend this camera! It’s got all the bells and whistles you need to use it as a security camera or a wildlife camera.

Didn't last, but got replaced
The camera seems to work pretty well. The lag time to move the camera is a little slow, but that's likely more due to network coverage. Plus you can adjust camera movement speed to compensate for that. It worked well for several months, but did stop working on me after about 3-4 months. I am not sure what caused this as the camera was permanently mounted & nothing would have affected it.I contacted the manufacturer to see what they could do & for several days, we went back & forth with troubleshooting. Some of it seemed rather silly since they wanted me to record a video of me plugging it in & holding the reset button. That seems pretty simple of a task, but I guess they wanted to be extra thorough to make sure that I was holding down the button long enough? They also thought they discovered the issue, noting that it wasn't fully charged & I need to charge it. Well, duh, I said several times in my prior emails that A) when installed it was always plugged into a solar panel & B) I had it plugged in for days after I brought it home. It's not fully charged because the unit is faulty. It seemed a little condescending, but they were really nice & supportive along the way. At the end, it was deemed faulty & they agreed to send me a replacement. The only caveats were I had to send them back mine & they won't send me a new one till they get that. I understood the latter, but kinda bummed I had to pay to ship that back because the cheapest option was about $24. Add that to the data subscription that I paid for & could not use because of it not working & time to troubleshoot & I was down about $50. I noted this & asked if they could reimburse me for these costs & they declined. Whatever, I'm at least getting it replaced. It's been about 2 months with the replacement camera installed & everything seems to be working fine. They asked me to leave them a review, so here it is. Honestly, if this one lasts a few years, I'll be fine. It's unfortunate that the first one quit working, but that sometimes happens no matter the product. Maybe that was a fluke. For the cost & the functionality I get out of it, I would buy this again, however, I would still look if any better options hit the market.

Camera didn’t work in my context
This camera may work for many, but for what I needed, it didn’t fit my needs.First, this camera has built in solar which I think is an awesome feature. The battery life was not an issue at all. The camera did a great job sensing large objects (me) at a distance, however I need it to be able to capture any predator activity around my chickens. For small predators such as fox, owls, hawks, etc it just isn’t sensitive enough to detect them from a distance around 30 ft.The strap is a nice idea for temporary mounting, but the clip is weak, so it doesn’t always hold that great.I think that this camera certainly has some nice features that could benefit some; however I returned it as it didn’t work for me.

Great all around Trail or Patio Camera
I purchased the Ucon TC17 trail camera from Amazon after reviewing a number of other brands and models. The camera came in just a few days. The TC17 was a very easy camera to setup. It came with everything needed for an easy installation. After downloading the Ucon app from Apple Store I was able to follow instructions and have the camera working in with very little trouble. The TC17 has a very clear picture and is very easy to operate. I accidentally deleted my device and need Ucon’s help. I was told to reset the camera which I did and had the camera was working perfectly in just a few minutes. I use the Ucon TC17 camera for viewing deer that come and feed on my back patio. I highly recommend Amazon and Ucon for purchase trail cameras.John Kerley
