Have a DJI Drone - you need this!!
I love flying my drone both as an inspection tool and for pleasure. However, the controller that came with the drone required that I connect it to my phone. This made the controller heavy and somewhat awkward.This RC Controller is fantastic! The image is bright, and the range is unbelievable. Installation was easy (paired immediately with my drone). It is well worth the money!

No Brainer...sorta
A major upgrade from the standard (no-screen) controllers. No more fiddling with external devices (phone/tablet) and extended mounts for large tablets. It would be nice if the software was capable of pre-planning routes/flights for the Air 2S. If there is a way, other than hyperlapse, to do this I have yet to find it. Initially I purchased a used/refurbished one that refused to even acknowledge my wi-fi, let alone the drone, so make sure there is a return policy in place.

So much better then the RC-N1.
Paired up with no issues. Screen is nice and bright even the daytime. Got a third more distance than the original controller with absolutely no pixelation in a city environment. Battery life is slightly less. Does feel good in the hands.

Initially, I thought using my phone and the other controller would be 'good enough' but I found I just never flew my drone. I added this piece and my learning curve just got a lot easier and I'm flying it like crazy. I was really happy that it was such a great product at a fair price. This makes using a drone so much easier!

My Mini 3 Pro came with the RC-N1 controller. I'd seen many DJI drone related YouTube video reviews that mention the pros and cons of the this controller vs. the RC-N1. They were spot on with their comments. The DJI RC is not the powerhouse android device that my smartphone is, so the FLY app is a little sluggish and laggy by comparison. But, the convenience of having the build in screen more than out-weights this slight performance deficiency. My smartphone screen is a little brighter than the DJI RC's screen, except when my smartphone overheats and dims the screen. That happened often using my RC-N1 in the hot Virginia summers. So far, my DJI RC has never overheated and it's nice to just keep my phone in my pocket. When I upgrade to a newer drone in the future, I will definitely pay extra for the RC version with a built in screen.
