Good tool, not a great gift
This is a great training tool. It fits securely on the stick, and can be moved anywhere on the handle. We played around with it a lot, and the weighted bag stayed securely in place. (There is a vertical hook-and-loop strap, but the two horizontal ones, along with the "grippy lines" inside, are what is really holding it tight.) It did add weight, but never felt as if it might be breaking the stick. The weight bars (used to adjust the overall weight) are easy to place and remove. They are inside the pouch and don't get jostled loose during use.The weight isn't very giftable, though. It doesn't come with any retail labeling -- there's no wrapper or external tags or even a sticker. There are also no directions or other information in the bag. The only indicator of what this thing is is a tag sewn inside the weight pouch. It says "Ice hockey stick weight," but it's deep inside the product.So, this is great if you know what it is!Update: After a bunch of practice sessions, the weight no longer stays high on the stick, no matter how tightly we attach it. It has even slid down to the heel of the blade and gotten torn up a few times. So, we've started adding some clear hockey tape and it still works well.
