GREAT BATTERY
Excellent replacement battery for VX7R. Charges up to full voltage of 8..4 volts in 3 hours or less. I had to remove the water proof gasket in order to fit as it was too tight . Great value for sure !!

Great replacement for Yaesu FNB-80Li battery for VX-7R HT ham radio
Unlike other made in China replacement battery paks, these fit and latch in place identical to OEM battery. No idea about reliability or longevity yet, but came fully charged at 7.6VDC. Will comment further once I charge cycle them a few times. Since Yaesu no longer makes this battery and left quite a few of us with $350 HTs like my VX-7R ruggedized/water-resistant HT in a jam to find replacement batteries, I’m very happy to have found good recommendations on Amazon about this part!!! Not ready to toss out my ham radio just because it’s over 10 yrs old. Works great & not used all that often

Works for me
Works ok for me. I haven't done any scientific testing or comparison to other batteries. So I don't really know how it compares. It works fine for me and doesn't seam to have a short life. I'm content with it.

Too tight fit but with effort useable
Review date: 1-25-2024, Revision: A.The good:Has the required rubber o-ring seal around the battery. Without that, the number one feature, of a waterproof radio, is no longer. The bad:The battery is way too tight of a fit. I had to apply silicone greese to the two places where it rubes the inside of the radio and battery (look for the two rub points on the bottom of the battery). This charged battery voltage is 7.5v. While most batteries are normally 8.2v, after chargeibg. I'm not sure if this is significant. This lower voltage was after one charge cycle. Both batteries, the loaded while transmitting voltage was 7.4v. The reference battery was an older one, that I marked as "?-2020." As in I forgot to mark it, at the time of purchase. I mark all my batteries, so I know which one is which, in case it goes bad.In conclusion: If you greese the battery and set the radio face down, and apply effort to close the battery latch, it will fit. I presume if the radio leaves marks on the battery where it rubs, it will eventually fit better over time.Good luck

Fits the radio (Yaesu VX-6R)
Good fit to the radio. I had to adjust the gasket on the battery but that was not different. The battery is “sealed” to the radio body so the radio maintains it resistance to water intrusion. The battery maintains a charge that is a good as the original Yaesu battery which is no longer manufactured by them.

I am always somewhat leary of third party batteries, but this one works great - long lasting and charges well.
