79 year old shelled Perfect Pecan Halves
Had to replace for my husband. Our old one finally gave out. I can’t tell you tge number of pecans it crack but I’ll give you an idea.My Aunt who is 98 years old now, SHELLED OUT a rubber raft BAG FULL OF pecans. She spent almost every waking minute for two weeks shelling out pecans. My husband was met by her , at our door demanding he crack Mor pecans because she had shelled out all he had cracked for her. My Aunt was apx in her late 70’s at that time . She has been in a mental institution since she was 12 but she has been taught a lot since being placed in San Angelo State Living Center. Located in Carlsbad Texas.. My Aunt had picked up every single one of those pecans. She still lives in the San Angelo State Living Center. Now at 98 she is confined to a wheel chair. She can no longer make the trip to our home so we continue to visit her . We’re now in Seguin, Tx.Until about 3 months ago that little nut cracker had continued to be used to crack our Texas Pecans. The BEST TOOL WE HAVE EVER HAD!It was Great News to discover I could replace it for my Husband. We couldn’t allow my Aunt to use it it should not be used by anyone with mental disabilities.except under supervision. My Aunt could pick tge meat out of the pecans using JUST HER FINGERS. I have never seen pecans picked so clean. Also if you’re using it properly your pecans will split in half perfectly.Leaving you more perfect halves to decorate those pies and cakes for the holidays. More than any pecan cracker w have ever owned. We are in or midland late 70’s.This is the longest Review I have ever left But This little nut cracker is the BEST out there regardless of what you may pay for one of tge others.Buy with confidence.PS. That raft bag was almost 4 ft tall and apx 4 ft wide.I’m 5’2” so that bag may have been over 4’ I wish I had taken a picture of her and that bag.She had picked them up off the Schools grounds.Putting them in plastic bags that we get with our groceries. She kept piling them up in Her room for her sisters. The house over seer would call me concerned because he needed reassurance we would be picking them up. I kept telling him we would regardless if the amount. Naturally I had NO REAL IDEA of the actual amount she had picked up or that she had stocked piled so many bags. Lol But we go up each September to celebrate her Birthday and attend the Schools picnic. We kept our word and Yes we were shocked at the number of bags. They filled out I packed light ( thankfully) because those bags filled our trunk completely and all the extra space in the back seat area where she was not sitting. All tied neatly into those plastic bags.It was mazing to see that Rubber boat bag full up.We did distribute all the pecans she shelled out and sent very large sacks of shelled pecans to her four sisters. Then to my Sisters and cousins that baked. That still left us with Pecns for years. We keep ours in tge freezer. I never run out of pecans because we started buying from a local man when we ran out of the ones she picked and shelled.Last year we purchased another 25 pounds of pecans from our Bandera man.Now my husband can get back to shelling pecans for me.Thank you for making this Great tool.Mrs John Varnon

Great at cracking hard nuts
Got a giant bad of in shell hazelnuts but didn’t have a nut cracker. I went to the grocery store to purchase one but all they had was a lobster shell cracker. I tried that with these nuts and between the rounded cracking surface and the round and very hard hazelnut shells it was practically impossible to get at these hazelnuts. After doing some research I found this nut cracker. These things are awesome. They make quick work of these hazelnuts. The teeth penetrate the shell relatively easily. If you are careful you can crack the shell without damaging the nut inside. Worst case is that the nut is split in half. The guard on the side keeps the shells from flying all over the room. My only complaint is that it is sort of easy to pinch your hand in between the handles if you aren’t careful. Overall, these things are 100% worth the price.

Great sheller, no blade replacement available
Great product but they need to add something to keep the handles from pinching your palms. I got used to it but mistakenly gave my mother one who pinched her hand so badly her hand was to sore to try it again. They need a stopping device in the front that prevents these painful pinches. I myself learned to work around it but there needs to be a manual with it warning users to watch out for this. Also need to be able to get a blade replacement they don't sell .Other then that it's great.

Great Tool
Modern upgrade to an old problem. This cracker is well designed and preformed very well. It takes some practice to get the perfect crack, but is very doable. Worth the money! Takes the work out of pecan shelling.

Pecan peeler
Works beautifully. Doesn’t shatter the pecan meat.

Works in Some Applications
If you are in Texas or somewhere that raises the larger thin shelled pecans, these work very well. If you have smaller native Missouri hard shells, they do not. Yes, they will cut the ends off, but the shells are too hard to break apart even with the ends snipped off.

Pecan Sheller
I've used various nut crackers for shelling pecans. Most were disappointing by destroying the nut & shell as well & you would have to pick pick pick. Lets call it for what it is...tedious & the reward is minimal at best. So I was willing to take the plunge & give this one a go. I admit there is a learning curve in order to perfect a technique without damaging the nut itself. Face it, you'll never will get a perfect track record with all pecans, but this sheller really helps zero in on it. I've had way more success keeping the nut intact using this. Been very pleased with this item & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others who are disappointed in the nut sheller they are currently using. Thank you for a pleasant shopping experience.
