Nikon 16x50 - Top Sweet Spot binoculars
I just recently purchased these bins, and blimey they punch above their weight quality and image-wise. Very well built, felt even more premium than their counterpart Pentax (Where feel premium as it is.), and well balanced. Hardly any Chromatic Aberration. Extremely sharp and bright. Perfectly collimated. I compared them with their Pentax SP 16x50 counterparts, so as to choose which ones to keep. Alas the Pentax lost, due to excessive CA, which these Nikons keep under control very well. Excellent value for money.

Superb optics for the price. Robust construction. For ornithology and stargazing.
These 16x50s were purchased to complement a pair of small Nikon Aculon 8x21 roof prism binoculars. The 8x21 make a great pair of good quality pocket binoculars which can be taken anywhere with me. The Aculon 16x50 is a different piece of equipment altogether. These are porro prism binoculars (i.e. the 'classic' shape) which are therefore considerably larger and heavier. The larger objective lens, however, gives much greater light gathering which I would say is essential for the higher magnification. These provide a clear, crisp image, even on overcast and slightly misty days. e.g. Cars can easily be distinguished and I can usually tell which make and model from over 2 miles away. Colours are clear and, as far as I can tell, not altered by the lenses. The weight of these is significant and at this magnification any small hand movement or tremor is exaggerated. I have fairly steady hands, so can use these for a 5-10 mins without significant shake looking at objects 10-300m or so away. Stargazing, however, is a different matter. I find obtaining a steady image very difficult at this range with this magnification, so switch to using a tripod or monopod for this. I have recently started to enjoy stargazing. These binoculars are great if you want high magnification for bird watching and for stargazing, without progressing to a telescope. These come with a tripod mount, so you won't need to purchase one separately. I was looking for higher power, good optics and flexibility without significant compromise in quality. At this stage I feel that I have found this, without ANY perceivable compromise at all in quality. I expected good kit from Nikon, but even I was surprised.

Great value for money
For the money these Nikon binoculars are great value. They have a quality feel with the overall rubber covering and are not too heavy for everyday use. Easy to set up, the image is clear throughout the zoom range although there is a slight loss of brightness at the maximum zoom point. I was slightly apprehensive regarding the image quality with a zoom feature, but shouldn't have worried as the optics are well balanced, easy to focus and the zoom action has a quality feel to it. The lens caps are a bit naff especially the eye caps, but that doesn't detract from the overall quality of these binoculars. With a standard 5 year warrantee from Nikon I highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed.

Big thumbs up from husband!
I bought these for my husband after extensive research. He’s so impressed with the quality, focus, vision, grips - in fact everything about them.

Nikon zoom Binoculars, a bit of magic
Superb performance, ultra sharp views up until the very last edge of the maximum zoom. But with slow adjustments you finish with a sharp image. The weight of the bins are spot on and bit silly to say but feel total quality, more than impressed.

Quality beyond their price.
I am a binocular fan. I have dozens of them. I wanted a more powerful 16x pair, and bought these. I fully expected them to be reasonable for the price, but nothing more than that. However, these are absolutely first class. For that price, a pair of fashionable roof prism binoculars would be dire. They are sharp practically to the edge, are bright, and have a wide immersive field of view. The eyepiece cap is not brilliant, but they never are! Why bother with them? Just leave them in their case and gently clean the eyepieces occasionally. I do not wear glasses, but I can see the whole field when the eyecups are in the "out" position, so they should be OK for glasses wearers with the eyecups in the "in" position. Personally I prefer leatherette covering, and a knurled metal focus wheel, but the rubber coating is fine. I would need a time machine to find new leatherette coated binoculars!

The zoom/focus is smooth, displaying a sharp clear bright image as does all Nikon Aculon binoculars. I have three otherNikon Binoculars that have worked flawlessly for many years. Zoon Binoculars are very useful Keep on the 8x42 setting for a wide view. When you see something you want to see closer just zoom in for a closer look. You should not have to refocus the larger zoom image. Great for looking at stars the 8x gives a very clear image.

Field of view on 10x is narrower than non zoom type, I don’t know if this is right or not, till now I didn’t try it on far landscape, Maybe I might change my opinion, otherwise it’s amazing in all aspects, after trial in open distances really I noticed that field of view is narrow.

SOME REVIEWS BY SOME PEOPLE LOOK LIKE THEY HAVEN'T READ THE MANUAL AND IF THEY DID THEN THEY WOULD'VE SEEN SOME FEATURES ARE PART OF THE BINOCULARS!!! Okay, now that I've got that off my chest... these Nikon ACULON A211s are LEGIT! Here's what I love: Crystal Clear Views: The 16x magnification is awesome for long distances. Birds, sporting events, stargazing – everything's sharp! Surprisingly Lightweight: Even with powerful lenses, these aren't heavy to hold. Great for hiking or long days out. Easy to Adjust: The focus knob is smooth and the eyecups are perfect for getting the right fit, even if you wear glasses. Awesome Value: Didn't want to pay a fortune, but these feel high-quality. The rubber armouring is a nice touch. One thing: READ THE MANUAL, folks! Helps you understand how features work and how to make the most of them. Overall, I seriously recommend these binoculars. Perfect mix of performance and price.

Lang gezocht naar een verrekijker met meer dan de standaard zoom. Zeer goed zicht bij maximale zoom. Er is ook een statief houder bij. Niet twijfelen voor die prijs.
