This product contains four resealable, 2400-calorie ER Bars. Each 2400-calorie bar is 18 oz., broken into six 410-calorie rations. The nutrition facts serving size on the back and the instructions on the front recommend eating two of these 3-ounce rations per day minimally (820 calories). So on minimal rations only, this product will feed four people for three days if they each eat only 820 calories per day. Different circumstances will require more calories per day. So if one person consumes 2400 calories per day (six rations instead of two), this product will sustain that one person for four days.

I bought an extra just to try and to be honest, it's not bad.  Only way I can describe it is that it's a very dense, sweet, lemony, moist cookie.  The description says it has a non thirst inducing taste and I agree.  1 bar could easily feed 4 people for a day, so a small family would only require 2 at the very most.
