Fabulous book with lots of wonderful pictures and ideas for making easy, comfortable clothes

Love the Jansdotter style, colours, prints and above all, clean simplicity. The patterns are basic and simple but adapt into several, desirable outfits. I love that paper patterns are provided and the layouts and instructions are clear, no silly cd to print off. I also love that the garments are shown on people of all ages and in different everyday use. The kaftan photograph on the cover is distinctive without doubt but does not give a true idea of the beautiful scandi style throughout the book so don't be put off! The rest looks modern not retro 70s as this conveys!!! I like Jansdotter's own style but check out Pinterest and the Ivy Arch blog for for a more Gudrun take on these clothes.

This is a very inspiring book for those who would like to make their own clothes. Truly lovely!

I love this book and the styles. I am not an experienced dressmaker but have some knowledge of it. made the pilvi coat successfully but did have a few issues with the instructions. I cut out the pattern but cut off too much around the neck as it said to cut out for the interfacing. You don’t cut it from the pattern, you leave it on and then cut another piece for the interfacing, separately.. Luckily I made the mistake on a toile. My toile fitted perfectly so I was lucky as I don’t know how to adjust patterns. I am a size 14 and made a large. There are lots of examples of other sewists successes with the patterns on the Internet. I have made the Esme tunic too and am making another. This garment is easy to make.

Great book - really excellent cuts/designs/ideas. My only criticism is that the paper patterns that are included have been printed over each other (presumably to save space). Which makes transferring them really time consuming and fiddly. Shame - because when I have made up the designs the results have been just beautiful. Jansdotter really knows how to design to flatter any body shape.

A fabulous book for anyone who loves sewing and wants to venture into making their own clothes. You can begin with simple accessories and work towards a complete working wardrobe. Designs are simple ,stylish and well illustrated and will take you from season to season. Inspirational!

I treated myself to this book and I just love it, the clothes are simple yet stylish and beautifully wearable. I have made one of the tunics and it was so easy to construct and looks fabulous - just like the pictures. Copying the patterns is slightly tedious but only really has to be done once and is simple enough. The only downside I have found is that the sizes are quite small, I wear a UK size 12-14 but according to my actual measurements on the chart provided I am an XL which is the biggest pattern size in the book, so if you are a larger lady it might not be such a good buy.

Die Schnitte gefallen mir sehr gut, es gibt auch Variationen. Man sollte sich aber erstmal durcharbeiten, um zu verstehen, welcher Schnitt zu welchem Teil gehört. Die Taschen im Buch sind toll.

What a beautiful, inspiring book. I'm no sewing expert by any means, but all these projects look doable. Makes me want to go to Sweden ...and New York! Highly recommend if you're into sewing, or simple fashion or hygge.

The patterns are simple yet they have style. Unfortunately if you're looking for plus size fitting it will be necessary to do some adjusts. The sewing instructions are easy to follow.

I got this book this morning and proceeded to immediately drool my way through it once, twice, and a third time. I will be making every single piece in this book, in many variations, no hesitation. Patterns are easy to follow & ample directions & tips are included, as well as styling cues galore. Lotta's aesthetic is gorgeous.Forewarning, I am a US Size Medium (8-10) and the largest size in this book is maybe going to fit a smallish US Size L, max. They call their largest size XL, but the bust on their XL tops out at 43 inches, waist tops out at 34", and hips top out at 45". NOT even close to XL, in my book. But, if you have some basic experience with pattern-making, fit adjustment, etc. this is no big deal as none of the patterns are particularly complex. Very straightforward & easy to size up, if you need to. Designs are quite elegant in their simplicity, not boring or "craftsy." Beautiful layout. Bonus projects included in the book are lovely: bracelets, scarves, bags, etc. The book itself is truly beautiful. Wonderful style & color sensibility, with a very Scandinavian POV. I ADORE IT. 👍👍
