Very Interesting Guide Book To Many Different Forms Of The Supernatural
Even if you don't believe in the paranormal, this book still makes for fascinating reading. I certainly don't believe in every incident or encounter mentioned in the book, but I nonetheless found it to be very entertaining and engaging. It's true that some of the supernatural events reported here are so spectacular and outrageous as to defy belief -- but many others do have the ring of truth about them. It's obviously hard to know the final reality (or lack thereof) of poltergeists, UFO's, lake monsters, etc., but this book does present a persuasive case that there is indeed something strange going on out there. For one thing, this book is so comprehensive, detailed, and well-written that it makes you think very carefully about the supernatural. In other words, it's intriguing and provocative. Another excellent feature of this book is that you can pick it up and put it down -- and just read a few entries at a time. You don't have to sit down and wade all the way through it. For example, I generally pick it up and just read about one particular town in the United States, and then put the book down again. Recently, for example, I read all the entries for Carson City, Nevada -- and then I put the book away. In fact, all the listings in the book are in guide-book format; there are individual entries that can be read all the way through, or just a few at a time. I love these kinds of books. They're a fun diversion. It's not like slogging through a long novel. Anyway, this is a thoroughly engrossing book. And one of its benefits is that it doesn't confine itself to just ghosts, or just UFO's. In fact, it covers the range of almost any kind of entity or paranormal event that you can think of: Mothmen; Shape-Shifters; Bigfoot; Skinwalkers; Haunted Graveyards; Cursed Objects; you name it. As mentioned before, I don't necessarily buy-in to everything this book claims. But it is so well written and well researched, and the language is so colorful, compelling, and exciting, that the whole book is a great read. I was very happy with this book. I just wish that there were more just like it.

Don't travel the U.S. without this!
An excellent guide for paranormal enthusiasts as well as tourists. Nice to see all states covered, & that non-ghostly stories are included. The companion International Directory is also of interest, though slim by comparison.

アメリカ心霊スポットガイド大鑑
Haunted Places: The National Directory

Haunted Places Directory
This book is a great resource of haunted places divided by states. It's a great guidebook to keep if you're travelling too, because many of these places you would never know about if you look in a normal tour book or call the Chamber of Commerce.
