Binatone Trend 3 LCD Digital Corded Phone, Color: Silver

I bought this with specific purpsose for work in mind but plans changed and it sat gathering dust for a few weeks on the shelf. It did however prove itself a few weeks later.My home phone system is cordless with multiple docking stations - wonderful technology that I thought far superior to any little 'plug in phone' I choose to run on metered elecetricity; around the time for its monthly topup it just stopped - dead - shut off everything - because I hadn't been paying attention and hadn't noticed the warning tone. No elcetric = No phone.I usally top up via phone/computer but i couldn't buy electric because i didn't HAVE electric !!! Cue smug smile from the little silver binatone phone - I plugged it directly into a wall socket, did what needed done and unplugged it and tucked it back on the shelf. It took up so little room. Yes this is a basic low budget phone but it is nicely designed and practical. Sound quality during the calls was good. I imagine it would work well wall mounted.This is a perfect phone for people who rely on wireless/docked systems - you never know for whatever reason you will lose electricity and it pays to have a backup.

Further to my previous review, I've found an error in the instructions supplied with the 'phone in the section on storing numbers. As printed, the instructions don't work. I've used the procedure :1. Press 'Store'. 2. Enter the desired telephone number. 3. Press the desired memory location button. 4. Press the 'Store' button. This works! The manufacturer's version has the second 'Press Store' before 'Press the desired memory location' and this does NOT work!But in all other respects it's a good telephone and excellent value. I'd recommend it.

This phone is an Ok product, but both the cable to the base unit and the coiled lead between the handset and base unit are quite a bit shorter than my last phone, to the point that I've taken off the cables that came with this phone and swapped them with the ones on my old phone (which are black). Also, the picture shown in the advert is clearly white, whilst the actual phone is silver (which I know it says at the end of the description, but I didn't notice). So if you want a white phone do not buy this one.

The best thing I can say about this phone is that it works. However the lead between the base and handset is so short and the base so light that every time I answer it the base is lifted in the air. The lead between the base and the wall socket isn't over long either but at least both leads can be replaced. If replacing another phone you should keep the leads from your old one.

Overall the phone is good.LCD is just to see what number we are dialling and it’s not for caller Id

Easy to set up

I bought this phone to replace my current house phone as it looked neat and was very reasonably priced and I can now see why!The description says that it can be wall mounted but, if you tried to do that the handset would simply drop off as it does not sit securely on the base unit - even when in the horizontal position, let alone mounted vertically on the wall!The phone was overall quite cheaply made (what did I expect at that price I suppose?) but even I was surprised when, barely 2 months later it broke, the receiver button sticking in and breaking so you could not make a call with it at all. I opted to return it for a refund as I was completely disatissfied with the product and didn't want another one.Maybe I was unlucky, but I don't think this is a very good phone at all.

Does what it should for the price. Just wanted a cheap landline phone for free line with broadband provider.
