Overall good quality, minor flaws with fabric, good price for linen
A couple years ago i switched to linen bedding, i was skeptical at first but i made the decision to spend the money on a set of linen sheets. Since that day i haven’t looked back and i only use linen bedding. I’ve tested multiple brands but was looking for a more affordable option so i decided to give this brand a try. Here is my initial reaction:Overall they seem like good quality, there was a couple minor flaws on one pillowcase where some threads had come loose, these were part of the duvet set and not part of the sheet set but this is the reason for 4 stars. This is depicted in the photos. I trimmed the threads back and will see if any issues arise but i think it will be ok.In terms of softness, out of the box they are soft but you will definitely want to wash them before putting on your bed. I noticed the lint trap was not as full as other brands i used before so these did not shed the fibers as much, i think this means they will hold up over time really well. These will get softer with each wash which will only make them better. If you’re new to linen, you have to be ok with them being a little wrinkled. I think this adds to the comfort, the fabric feels more natural and gives it a cozy look.Linen also feels different on the skin than traditional percale sheets. I like to tell people it’s soft like flannel but breathes very well. There’s a bit of texture to linen, it’s soft but i wouldn’t say it feels smooth like traditional sheets. I sleep naked and i like the way it feels on my skin. Whenever i get back home from a trip it’s always my favorite thing to climb into my linen bedding and i sleep so good!when you wash and dry them, it’s better to dry them on low heat and take them out before they are completely dry. Linen will air dry quickly and they will last much longer if you do this.I think these are good quality for a good price, especially if you’re looking for a starter set to try out linen, these would be good for you. Just make sure you give it a fair shot and understand it may take a little adjustment period. If you take care of them they should last a very long time and get better and better.

Top notch quality!
Absolutely beautiful sheets! The quality is equivalent to Pottery Barn without the Pottery Barn prices. The linen is top quality French linen and the embroidery is top-notch attention to detail. So luxurious and the price could not be beat anywhere else. Key factor, if you want to keep your linens soft, do not wash with detergent. Wash with baking soda and distilled vinegar as a softener. If you want it to smell nice add a few of the scent booster beads and your linens, they will be soft to the touch. If you like them wrinkled like I do, than tumble dry is fine, nothing else needs to be done after you dry, but if you must have them pressed, then I suggest dryclean them or iron them out. Also, something to note, they are a bit larger than the average standard size so the best way to shrink linen is to wash in very hot water in a speed wash and dry and high heat, and they will shrink a little bit. Makes a huge difference.

Update: 4 and 1/2 years later - bottom sheet in shreds - NOT summer weight
Update Nov 27, 2020: Lowering to 4 stars for (lack of) durability.Bought these in late April 2016 and have been using them every 4th week - or less - rotating with other pairs. Today I woke up to find the bottom sheet in shreds near where the shoulders or the lower legs/feet would be. The sheets have gotten very very soft, the part where it is torn/shredded is extremely soft. I still like S&O linen sheets a lot and have bought from this brand 3 different pairs (two 'natural' color with cutout embroidery - they have a totally different texture than these).I like S&O sheets for another reason too: they are cut less generous (narrower) than other brands, which for me is a good thing as I have a low bed and all other brand linen sheets reach the floor, but the S&O don't.================================================Original review from spring/summer 2016:Ordered them after a few reviewers characterized them as warmer weather sheets. 'Internal heat' had me looking into linen sheets. Bought these expecting lighter sheets. But they are NOT LIGHT WEIGHT. That said, they are wonderful! I never sleep on new sheets before washing them first. Broke my habit because I couldn't wait to sleep on these! And slept, I did. Very soundly, on my soft and crinkly sheets. And loved them! Then I washed them and loved them even more. Did they get softer? How much softer can they get? (everyone says they can get a lot softer). They are wonderful. And for the price, you get to enjoy some ultra luxury for a fraction of what would otherwise cost. That said, if you are looking for a light weight linen sheet, this is not it. These feel more like medium/light weight, somewhere between 5.3 and 6 oz. (150 to 170 gr.) Light weight sheets should be 4.2 oz per square meter or 119 gr. I felt that to-die-for linen with my hands when I recently visited Gray Line Linens in NYC the store dedicated to linen. I am now looking for 4.2 oz linen sheets for the summer. On the other end of the spectrum, there is the suggestion of Tricia Rose of Rough Linens who proposes a really heavy weight top sheet for the summer, a heavy weight linen sheet and nothing else. She is building on the European position of no top sheet, but only bottom and duvet cover. Nice suggestion, but I'd rather keep my top sheet.2 Years later: I just bought a new pair of Simple&Opulence linen sheets in 'natural linen' color. They feel thicker and rougher than the first pair. The 'natural' color linen has not undergone any coloring process, which usually softens the fabric. Have that in mind when ordering. They are not soft yet (after first wash), but they feel very sturdy. I bought the 'hollowed out' design and they look gorgeous. I am in the process of 'aging/softening' them (helping to break down the flax fibers) using hard dryer balls in the fluff dryer cycle after the sheets air dry.

Wears in, good quality
Lovely! Washed right out of the package and it was a bit rough to the touch (we didn’t use softener) but it quickly softened and now they’re great. They stretch after a few sleeps, as linen does, but tighten back after another wash.

Best summer linens ever for hot sleepers
These are great. Machine washed, still fit my mattress. They breathe, so much more comfortable for summer. Will keep using them until flannel.sheet season. They have softened with every wash.If you only like smooth satin agaisnt the skin, may not like linen for the texture, but I prefer to not sweat. They do wrinkle, that goes with the territory for natural plant fiber, though. Personally, I dont care , its a bed.I have the matching douvet cover and its the same material. Again, it allows skin to breathe when you have summsr humidity or hot flashes. Love the color and price point.
