Pantone quality you expect, but at a price tag

Colours do not appear to be accurate to PMS. Just had a major issue with some print and everyone else's Pantone book showed a different colour to this one.

Pantone books are expensive us designers all know this - with the problem of now pantone charging to use the swatches in adobe this is causing designers all across the world to pull their hair out as an added cost to what they pay for adobe software. My issue with these books is that they are not matching properly so they look shades different. Making it really hard to choose colours using this book. I am at a loss of what to do. Is anyone else having this issue with these books?

Der Pantone Formula Guide ist nach wie vor ein Must-have für alle, die professionell mit Farbe arbeiten – sei es im Grafikdesign, Druck oder Branding. Die Farben sind sauber gedruckt, die neue chromatische Sortierung ist logisch und macht das Arbeiten sehr angenehm. Besonders hilfreich finde ich, dass sowohl coated als auch uncoated Varianten enthalten sind – ideal, um dem Kunden direkt zu zeigen, wie sich Farbe auf unterschiedlichen Materialien verhält. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen: Im Vergleich zu älteren Versionen ist das Papier spürbar dünner. Es ist immer noch ausreichend, aber bei täglichem Gebrauch merkt man, dass die Stabilität etwas nachgelassen hat. Wer schon ältere Farbfächer kennt, wird den Unterschied merken. Trotzdem: Farbverbindlichkeit, Übersichtlichkeit und Handling sind top – für mich weiterhin ein unverzichtbares Tool im Studio.
