Is this suitable for calming a cat to allow us to groom? He hates being brushed and attacks / scratches / runs away.

If i have to give my dog 5ml because he's a large dog, this will only last 6 days, is that right? Thanks?

1 teaspoon is 5ml, so yes if you are needing to give daily, the 30ml bottle would last 6 days. There is a 100ml version available which would be more economical.

Would this help with socialising into a new home with resident cats?

As long as it's just needed for socialising, then I believe it would. I'm assuming you know your new dog is tolerant towards cats in general. I use the Dorwest Scullcap and Valerian tablets for my very anxious SBT (any random loud noises, cars, thunderstorms, fireworks) and it's made a HUGE difference.
