Q: Will this pump work for a 12 plant drip emmitter system that requires 10 to 50 psi? If so do I need a pressure regulator?

It has a limit pressure switch set at 45PSI. We use a regulator to slow the flow.

Q: does this pump accept standard garden hose connectors?Tks

no, but you can buy adapter or do what I did and cut an old hose and slid over the pumps fitting with a clamp. Worked great.

Q: Can this pump run for an extended period of time? 1-2 hours?

Been using these for years on my water filtration system... I run it for 20-30 minutes at a time with a 15 minute break. The pump gets EXTREMELY HOT after this amount of time, so I always have a small fan blowing on it when in use. I have to replace the pump every 1-2 years as well. Be careful with the plastic part where the hose screws on... it breaks very easily , especially after months/years of use. Besides that it works well enough that I keep coming back for it!

The maximum temperature this pump can handle is 140° F. Any higher than that and the internals of the pump can be damaged over time.
