THIS IS TRAVEL SIZE - this is not noted in the heading.
Bought this chess set and (my mistake) didn't notice that it was a travel size in the small print. Fine for travelling but too small for a chess club!

As beautiful as the Queens Gambit
It is ideal for travelling, it is good value for money and it is a compact design not too thick so it fits easily into a bag. I was pleasantly surprised to receive draughts/chequered and backgammon. Two very picky observations rules of backgammon would have been nice and the king would benefit from additional design work to differentiate from queen at the moment it just slightly taller.

Ok for occasional use
Being an avid chess player, I wanted something I could use a few times a week but easily store. This product is nice and compact, but the pieces are VERY small for teaching beginners (as hard to see the differences), especially children (as size makes them difficult to handle). Also not a very robust product - fine for putting in a suitcase maybe for a stay in a country cottage or Mediterranean Vila, but certainly wouldn’t take this camping or on the road! On the plus side, was very cheap, so you get what you pay for with this one!

Beautiful set
I didn’t know until opened, that this beautiful set is actually hand carved. All the pieces have been made to perfection.This is a GREAT little starter board for a child or adult starting out in the game of chess.Highly recommend

Lovely little set as far as travel sets go, the pieces are lovely but the board is really quite flimsy and feels cheap. My son (who this was for) loves the feel of it because it’s so smooth but it definitely feels like it will bend/snap really easily. For the price however, it is good and the chess pieces are well done

Chess Set
The chess set was just what I wanted, but was disappointed to find that one of the pawns was damaged. I phoned the company 'Stands Out' and they replaced it immediately. 6 star rating for customer care.
