Perfect for tenderizing chicken. Heavy and strong but doesn't destroy your meat.

I was blown away when I received this. Like so many, I never shop anymore because I don't have time, because it's winter, and because Amazon is easy. I usually get things that are so-so, they were good enough not to have wasted the time shopping. But this arrived and we actually laughed out loud because we were so please by such a silly thing. It's heavy, it's a pretty design so we hung it on the pot rack and it works perfectly. A meat pounder that is so delightful is sort of ironic.Update a year later: Just ordered another one as a gift. Seems ridiculous to get this item for a wedding gift, but it is so substantial and it comes in its own custom box that looks like a really high end item, which it actually is.

I don't even understand how they can market this to be used for food. It's a piece of bent and formed sheet metal wrapped around another piece of metal with large gaps all the way around. Moisture and juices from raw meat will enter these gaps and rot. This is a horribly unsanitary design and should not be sold for use in a kitchen.

Nice weight and very sturdy. Easy to use and clean

It worl as designed. Makes tenderize steaks quick and easy. The only problem with it. Is the handle needs to be larger in diameter. Hands cramp up when doing a lot steaks.

Solid manufacture... well finished... does the job.

Thist pounder is perfect. It not only thins the meet, but it tenderize just right. And it works great!!
