Good value
Excellent product. I've purchased three of these now, one for my Yamaha 225 and this is the second one for my Merc 350. Both improved the handling of the boat. The ONLY reason I'm buying the second one it the first one did it's job. Boating in Keys and hit a big rock. It saved the prop but did bend the mounting so new one on route. If you boat in thin water a lot, it's well worth the investment. MUCH cheaper than a propeller of a foot assembly!

Revolutionary.
The media could not be loaded. I literally cannot believe the change this made in the performance and speed I’m seeing out of my engine! - I had already been impressed with the incredibly durable, quality feel of the shield itself, (not to mention how much better it looks after completely hiding my ugly, scraped up skeg!) but after seeing and experiencing the proof first hand, I’m hands down a believer that this one is going to revolutionize the outboard game! - Install was as simple as you expect! My skeg had a curve to its shape, so I used my clamps to squeeze the middle of the brackets with a wrench between the top of them to “fan” them out just a touch - Measure and Measure again!! - Ensure the front and the back are equal distance from the cavitation plate! And if you need to, use a couple clamps to hold things still! - They instruct you to drill your top rear hole first which is a HUGE help to keep your self on track as you measure one more time before committing to the position! (Totally grateful for that foresight in the design process!) - I hit 18mph with an 8hp four-stroke (to be fair it has a ”9.9” carb) but the fastest I’ve EVER been on that dinghy was MAYBE 10mph for about half a second - (Don’t get me wrong, I love my dinghy, but the planing speed has always been horrible!) - Aside from the speed increase, the smoothness and stability of my turns can’t be given any justice from the video, as it just feels so much better to me than before with the slip being all but gone - I couldn’t begin to praise this one enough! - 15/10 take my money again and again!!

Increased steering response
I have a 2024 tidewater 2110 Baymax with a Yamaha 150 and had a heck of a time maneuvering it at low rpm. Docking and trailering was a real pain. I have the newer hydraulic steering and hated it! Not as responsive as a cable and you have to spin it like a top to get a reaction. My boat has a flatter bottom since it’s a bay boat (10 inch draft) so it’s just slow to react. I saw this advertised as quicker on plain and better handling so I gave it a shot and I can’t believe how it changed my boat. It steers better, comes on plane better and I can’t believe the difference. Kinda went from riding on ice with slicks to snow tires with chains. The boat rides a bit higher than before at any RPM giving a smoother ride. Great product.

Prop protection
Nice product, but not sure if it's going to be as effective as advertised with a dual prop boat.

Take your time and measure correctly.
I have a 16' boat with 50hp four stroke. With two people a touch heaver nature, the boat had trouble planning out. My brother would have to move to the bow before it would plane out. I installed the Hydro Sheild fairly easily. I used a framing square and 12" ruler to more accurately measure the correct placement. Once mounted we took the boat out and much to my surprise, the boat planed out quicker with both my brother and I than it does that when I'm by myself. Works awesome, I would recommend this to anyone. As for running the boat slower while remaining planed out or fuel saving, I don't know about that. I haven't had e chance to evaluate that yet. Great product!

Way to good not to review.
I must say that I find myself rating only the best or the worst products everything else is just kind of expected when you’re ordering from Amazon. But this product deserves a positive review!First of all I have never had such superior customer service from any company. Dale (I think he may be the owner and/or maybe the inventor or, at minimum, a A++ vested employee) was literally on the phone with me at 7pm on a random Thursday night answering my questions and texting with me so he could review photos of the placement of my install. In a world that begs not to be bothered with trivial questions about products or any extra help after the initial purchase, Dale was a breath of fresh air. He knew exactly what I was asking, exactly how to help and then he even followed up to make sure I was good with everything! 😲😲🤯So all of that and I haven’t even gotten to how awesome the product is! So I was a little skeptical going in. After all there is a few bad reviews about this thing. I purchased it because I live on a river that has some fluctuations in water level. It’s not bad but it is enough that I have had to replace more than my fare share of props over the last 5 years. I’m not blowing them up daily, but after buying my 4th prop for the boat in 5 years I felt like I should at least look at my options. After having this on my boat for only a week (and probably 16 hours of run time) I can say without a doubt that is working. Obviously the prop is still pristine but that is just the half of it. My boat also has a noticeably faster hole shot, I gained 2-3 mph on my wot without any issues in rpm or cavitation.I can only say good things about this product. If that changes I will repost but for now know that I am thoroughly impressed by this product and the company. And no I was not paid or given this product for this review.Boat info:1998 Rinker Captiva 232 powered by a 7.4l Mercruiser Thunderbolt with a Bravo 1 outdrive running a 14.5 17p 4 blade prop.

Stay Away From This !
Installed it 06/21/25 and went out on 06/22/25. It destroyed my $800.00 prop, $4000.00 gear box, $40 anode and not to mention the nearly $200.00 Hydro-Shield. Not to mention the labor, fluid and whatever else once I start the repair. Do not purchase this thinking it is going to benefit in any way. The least the company should do is reach out to me and try to make things right but I’m not holding my breath. Never even finished the day on the water before disaster struck.
