Hei Poa Tiare Traditional Monoi Oil

I love love love this oil. i use it on dry hair and wet hair. i know it says to rinse out, but if i know i am going to have my hair up in the day i sometimes apply a lot of oil after washing my hair and leave it in till i wash my hair the next day. Ive also used it for shaving and found it left my legs lovely and soft with little irritation. Ive tried a few fragrances and they all smell divine. the only down side can be that it is easy to spill due to the size of the bottle opening especially if ive taken it in the shower with me, although saying that i love the traditional design of the bottle so i can cope with that. it it has solidifies it only takes a little time of placing it or running it under warm water for it to melt.

I have been using this oil for many years, since the 1970s in fact. People often ask me how I get my skin on my arms so smooth and silky soft? Well, it is down to Monoi Oil. They sell it in California, where I'm from but can't find it in the UK, where I live now, although Harvey Nichols used to sell it. When I go to California for visits I bring some back. I am happy that I can order it through Mdm Perfumes now which has been a Godsend!It smells wonderful and I always get compliments about the scent. My friend came into my bedroom yesterday and she asked what was that lovely smell? I told her it was the Monoi Oil and she tried some and loved it. So I will send her some as a gift.There is something healing about it also. No need to wear perfume as the natural scent of the Tiare flower combined with the coconut gives a subtle waft of gorgeousness.

Lovely oil with great smell but for England I feel it could do with more versatile packaging. It is solid at room temperature so needs putting in warm water to melt before use. I’ve only used it once in the couple of months I’ve had it as I never think to warm it. Maybe a way to scoop some out to warm with body temperature like a cleansing balm would make it easier to use but the opening is very narrow.

This is my second bottle of this monoi. It contains parfum, it isn't pure unadulterated monoi, and smells a little different. I used mine mixed with beeswax and ylang ylang essential oil to make a solid perfume.

Be careful with this product. When we opened the lid, it wasn’t sealed and something black was sticking out. When I looked properly at it, it looked like a big, black, dry insect. We just threw it away- we didn’t even want to bother with return just to remove the bottle from our house.

The oil smells lovely! Don't need a big amount for my hair and keep it nice and shiny

Smells nice however on my skin it has made it drier over the week, yet its good as a hair mask. I will stick with Nuxe Huile prodigious as it has a superior quality and fragrance and does not dry out my skin. I did like the glass bottle, although a little tricky to measure out

I bought this product after having had a scalp massage with a very similar but three times more expensive oil! (It had exactly the same base, monoi oil.)I used it on dry hair, massage in well, and left for about an hour before washing it out. My hair became beautifully soft as a result. I did, indeed, have to melt the oil in some warm water, but this took little more than a minute or two.I have not used it as a body oil as yet, but I will have no hesitation in doing so.The tiare fragrance is lovely and not over powering at all.All in all,an excellent value purchase.
