Highlander Army Kit Bag Black

I got this just to provide a bag to carry some extra baggage home on a flight recently, so I only really needed something that would survive a single assault by baggage handlers. However, it turned out to be a really well made kit bag, with solid stitching, strong material and a good solid hook.The top fastening is the typical hook and ring system, where you thread the 3 rings at the top of the bag over the metal loop before locking it with the the clip at the end of the strap. This is pretty secure, but it is best to pack small items in a bigger bag and/or packing a large soft item (e.g a coat etc) at the top, so smaller items can't work their way out.I have several military issue kit bags at home , and this one compares well to them, so I expect to get several years of good service out of it. Like the others, it can be rolled up into a fairly compact roll to carry out in hand baggage to allow you to bring home those overseas bargains..

I read on a review that they were confused on how to close the bag properly. So was I a bit but then looked at the picture on Amazon and it's quite simple really. Feel a bit embarrassed now. Anyway, here's how to do it if you're pondering like I was:1. Take the link where the hook is.2. Take the link opposite of the hook and put the hook through from inside to outside.3. Fold link on the side in the same way and repeat with the other side link.4. You should now have the hook coming through all 4 links always from inside to outside. It folds nicely when you have stuff in the bag, just like in the picture.Overall I'm well pleased with this product. It's very sturdy, free postage and quick delivery. I'm already thinking of getting another one just for the future in case I need one for something.

I use this for laundry and it can hold 2 industrial sized washing machine loads worth of clothing.It's hard to carry over long distances if you've got a heavy load in it, but if you're looking for a strong bag to store a constricting item in closer to home then I would heartily recommend this.Once my dad saw mine he was very impressed and wanted one for carrying decoy birds in when he's shooting, I got him one for Christmas and needless to say he is very satisfied with it.Durable, no nonsense, 100% canvas, biodegradable bag. Does what it says on the tin.Fantastic. I'll be getting more in future.

I bought this to make a sandbag for strength training. I was surprised how big it was when I took it out of the packaging, not so much the height but the width; it's a lot wider than it looks in the picture. The material is a lot thicker than I was expecting, it feels really tough and hard-wearing which is just what I need. I used woven polypropelene sacks for the 'inner' sand bags. I only put two 10kg bags of sand in it, it's mostly filled with the stuffing out of an old punchbag. It currently weighs 31kg which is fine for me. There's no way you could fill it all with just sand it would weigh a ton.

I have bought this bag in preparation for a sailing trip and it was just what i needed.The build quality is very good and so far no threads are coming undone (a common issue with these kinds of bags). The sturdy and perfectly placed for carrying the bag.The inside is huge and perfect for all the foul weather gear and normal clothing.Once emptied it rolls into a tube not much bigger than a Pringles tube so excellent for boats where storage space is at a premium.Even better if not in use it is a perfect place to store all our duvets during summer.Definitely a great buy.

Wonderful bag, it's big and roomy and strong and well-made.I used it to transport a double mattress-topper to Greece - that gives you an idea of how much you can fit in (and there was room to spare!).Made of strong canvas with the option of a shoulder strap or a short carry handle.The closure works extremely well but for added security on the flight I also used a cable-tie to secure it - simple but effective!I highly recommend this kit bag - it's very, very good value for money.

The media could not be loaded.  Bought this to fill with 50 kg of sand to use as a DIY sandbag to workout with. Needed lining with rubble sacks, but as you can see from the video, it's a great piece of kit and a very cheap and effective fitness tool for me now.

This kit bag is so large I could get lost inside it! Like others have already said, the pin and eyelet fastening takes a little getting used to but once you've mastered it it's a breeze. There's a flap inside the bag to cover the contents when closed so stuff doesn't fall out (or things fall in). It's made of tough cotton material and feels robust although I wouldn't expect it to be waterproof. I got it to store a double sized airbed and that only half fills this bag, that's how huge it is!

Makes an excellent laundry bag for lugging across campus, so much better than the pop up mesh ones which fall apart in a matter of weeks. Not sure how it'd hold up as a kit bag as it's not water proof etc but then it's very cheap.

a great bag, well made, and enormous - it was bought for our seven year old to take camping but as it reaches from the floor to his shoulder we've found other uses for it!

I have owned this for six months. I only use it once a fortnight to carry my washing the five minutes walk to the local laundrette.I just noticed today that one of the eyelets is coming away from the fabric. I am really disappointed because I really like the bag, and I find it very suited to what I use it for. Maybe this is just a manufacturing fault with this particular bag? Who knows.I hope it doesn't get worse and I will get a few more years use out of it.

I wouldn't want to use this for travel - the need to take everything out to get to the bottom would be a nightmare.I purchased it to store an oil filled radiator in, that I just use for emergencies or when its really cold, and it's great for that - and strong enough to haul the heater up into the loft when not needed.

This is such a great bag! I bought it in Black after getting the Olive Green version for my camping gear. Very big, very cool, very versatile... What else can I say? If you need a big ass canvass bag to lug stuff about in; for example, clothes, boots, sleeping bags or any other kit of your choice, then you could do a lot worse than this authentic piece of old school, work horse, chic. Buy one now!!
