Better than the first volume, a must read for a reasonable price.
Venom by Rick Remender The Complete Collection Vol. 2 collects Venom (2011) #13, #13.1-13.4 and #14-22. There is quite a large cast in this comic so instead of mentioning everyone I'll just include a picture that gives the credits for their contributions. Before reading the first volume, Agent Venom was a character that I have heard high praise from and after reading volume one I could see why the character was liked but not so much the run itself. Something I would have been disappointed with if I had to spend a fortune picking the first volume but for the price I paid compared to what was being asked for I couldn't complain and found myself lucky. Fortunately I also picked up the second volume for a very reasonable price and I'm glad I did, because this volume was spectacular.Instead of picking up from the stage set from the last volume involving Crime-Master we get The Circle of Four, and it was a fun and great way to open the new collection. The story here is Mephisto's son tries to bring hell to earth in the hopes of successing his father which brings together several characters who are damned (Agent Venom, Red Hulk, X-23 and Ghost Rider) that must attempt to work together to save the earth from Hell. This arc is where the colours and artwork pop, and the hell theme works well, but once it's over we go back to for the most part dark colours. Despite this coming out first it really reminded me of Donny Cates and Nick Spencer's Dr. Strange Damnation arc and this may even been the inspiration for it as Mephisto at the end says he wants a casino. It was enjoyable and I would recommend that if you liked this arc to look into Dr. Strange Damnation its just as fun.The rest of the comic although it isn't feels like the continuation of the Crime-Master arc, not immediately though as there are things that happen but I don't know how else to describe it as it just builds up to it anyways. This also was enjoyable because we go back and focus more on Flash Thompson which is already interesting. Knowing the moral dilemma that he faces throughout this arc are enjoyable, it's interesting him being an idol of Spiderman and try to be the good guy but in a sense fail at it and not live up to his hero. For instance his relationship, his relapse with alcohol from the previous volume, his traumatic upbringing these are things that make Flash feel more like a more human Spiderman because of these flaws that people could have but still try to do good and I believe that's why Flash is so liked. The arcs are enjoyable because of Flash's character but the writing and characters like Jack O'Lantern throughout the story make this volume easily more enjoyable than the last.Overall this is a must and I hold it in high regard compared to my other Venom reads, I would recommend keeping eagle eyed for reasonable offers and snapping it up should any arise. I think the only thing I didn't like was Eddie Brock's use and trying to turn him into a Frank Castle like character, beyond that I don't really have any complaints. This isn't the end of Agent Venom as Cullen Bunn has taken over the reigns and has a complete collection of his run as well, I have yet to get my hands on it but prices are on the rise so once I find a fair offer I'll give that a read and review as well.Hopefull you found this review helpful and happy reading.

Family matters
This collection wraps up the Rick reminder run on venom. It's a shame, because this is a really good run. If there is one takeaway from this series, it is that flash is a hero because he struggles against his addictions and vices, and doesn't wallow in them. Flash is also an addict and wAtching him destroy all the good things in his life to chase his addiction to venom was a really interesting, if frustrating, journey. Also, this version of Jack o lantern is a monster and he's so much fun. This collection also includes the circle of four story, which is a series of point one issues bookended by regular venom issues. It'd a decent enough story, but not really noteworthy on its own. Some of the art is really nice though.

Something I thought would be totally s***ty and boring was actually a really good and captivating story
Venom by Rick Remender: The Complete Collection Volume 2Hell on Earth, featuring Red Hulk, Ghost Rider, and whatever the heck that Lady Wolverine is called. Something I thought would be totally s***ty and boring was actually a really good and captivating story. And then the next half of the book is Venom finishing what he started with Crime Master and Jack O'Lantern in volume one.Art is on point. And story moves quickly and feels like a Remender book. Nothign confusing, nothing outrageous, just fun dialogue and powerful action with a great emotional back story as fuel. Can't ask for anything better.
