Excellent mesh wifi for bargain price!
I have been debating on and off between getting a mesh wifi system to hook up into my current Vodafone broadband. After watching some videos online I was convinced and hopped on Amazon to see the current deals - I wanted to have WiFi 6 as this seemed to be the current standard. Luckily I came across this product and after watching a few reviews I was convinced. When I received the MX3 from Tenda I was struck by the great quality looking routers, very small and lightweight but also stylish. I like that they also come with screw mounts build in to the frame of the router, as I will likely wall mount these across the house.Set up was incredibly easy, I plugged in the main controller into my vodafone hub by ethernet and boom a new wifi system emerged. I did the initial set up using my laptop and then switched to the app. After plugging in all 3 routers and performing firmware updates and also splitting the SSID into 2.5G and 5G bands I was in business. I turned off my old wifi and reset up all my devices.I have a fair few smart devices linked to my network (smart thermostat, cctv camera on my garage ( some distance from the house) and various smart plugs, lights and Alexas) and I immediately noticed my speeds and connectivity have improved. I get get nearly full speed connection anywhere in the house and switching to the 2.5G band I can get connection from across the road and the back of the garden. I'm due to upgrade soon to Virgin full fibre and hopefully my speeds will get even better with this mesh system. The network has been super stable with no blips or drop outs.Overall I'm extremely pleased with this product and for the price - I paid £99 for a 3 router kit it’s been a fantastic purchase! Would recommend to anyone. If I was being a slight critic the app is definitely a bit dated and could do with some TLC or an update from Tenda.

It just works!
Had this about a week now and has transformed my household WiFi! Very easy to set up. Just connect any of the 3 nodes to your router (which becomes the primary node) using the supplied Ethernet cable, download the tenda WiFi app, connect by WiFi to the default network and password displayed on the bottom of the unit, then choose your new WiFi network name and password. Voila!First job was to update firmware via the app which took about 3 mins.My home router (Vodafone) is still broadcasting its existing network, and I’ve left some devices connected to it ( WiFi e.g TV and wired e.g skyQ box) which isn’t affecting my new Tenda network at all.The ‘secondary nodes’ automatically connect wirelessly to the primary when you position them elsewhere and plug them in, to create the ‘mesh’ network.I’ve got the primary node by my router on the ground floor at the front of my house, one secondary node at the rear of my house, and the third in a bedroom on the first floor which easily covers my converted loft too. Full strength WiFi throughout my house now, all on one network without the faff off extenders etc. Phone and any other devices simply switch to the nearest. A device connected by Ethernet to my router can get about 60mbps, which isn’t great but not got fibre between cabinets and homes on our estate yet. Tenda network is running about 50mbps throughout the house which is more than enough for my needs. The Tenda mw3 can carry 100mbps, if you’re lucky enough to be getting that from from your isp. Each node also has two network sockets aswell, so you could connect that way if required, for any devices that don’t have WiFi etc.I’ve registered the Tenda App, which is pretty good and allows you to label your nodes and view connected devices etc, but note that once registered (needed if you want to be able to remotely manage the network) I’ve noticed you then need to be logged in in order to view and manage your network via the app, even if you are connected to your WiFi network. All in all a great price of kit at a very reasonable price compared to other mesh WiFi products. Would definitely recommend if you router isn’t providing good enough WiFi and you’re sick off crap extenders and mixed networks etc.
