This little bag is amazing. Sturdy canvas and zippers, lots of pockets, main compartment is roomy. I love that it can be used as a backpack or sling bag for front or back carry. Nice daily carry bag.

This backpack/sling is made of heavy-duty canvas and features five pockets for organization. One of the pockets is on the "back" side of the bag that lies against my body. This back pocket is extra security and where I keep money/cards/essential stuff. The zippers on the compartments open at an angle, making the openings wider and easier to access. I have a large water bottle that I prefer, and while it's too big for the water bottle pocket, I can fit it in the largest of the three main pockets on the side facing away from my body! The water bottle pocket would work well for one that is 12 ounces or smaller. The straps are secure and easy to adjust. and have a good shoulder feel with no fatigue after prolonged wear. I ordered the olive green bag, and the color matched the one in the product description. There was a bit of that "new bag smell," but it wasn't unpleasant and dissipated quickly. The craftsmanship is above and beyond, with no missing stitches, and the zippers have leather-like pulls. The thing that impressed me most about this bag is that it lies flat against my body when worn as a packpack, with no space or slouch that looks sloppy. I love it!! I plan to order another one in a different color.

Update: I posted my original review right after purchasing this bag in 2019. I came back today to purchase another one, not because the original bag has fallen apart but simply because I’d like it in an additional color. After more than two years, my bag still looks brand new. I’m really hard on bags, so that’s saying a lot. This is my “everything” bag; it comes with me to work, to parties, to concerts, on overseas trips, and into the woods. I’ve stuffed it to the brim with stuff, carried heavy containers of water inside it, tossed it carelessly on the ground wherever I wanted, and dropped it in rivers. Its versatile straps are amazing: zip together for everyday, zip apart for hiking. I can even unhook them and tie them around my waist. In restaurants, I detach a strap, loop it around my chair, and reattach (for security). Even with the abuse I’ve heaped on the bag, it’s in perfect condition (other than losing the pull tab on the rear pocket, which doesn’t matter because the zipper still works fine). I’m astonished by the bad reviews and hope the quality of my new bag will be the same as the old because this is hands-down my favorite bag! Original: I bought this bag as a replacement for my much-loved, but worn out, Ameribag. I prefer a canvas bag, and Ameribag no longer offers them. This bag is just a bit larger than the Ameribag and has a wider strap. I like the size because it can accommodate a good-sized notebook. The bag appears to be sturdy and has nice big zippers. My only gripe is that there's no key clip inside, but I found a loop inside an outside pocket that could serve that purpose if I hook a carabiner to it. I ordered the bag in olive, but it looked almost tan on my computer screen. I'm happy to report that it's a true olive color. A very pretty bag!

If you are looking for something "different" from a typical backpack style bag, this is it. The canvas and hardware are heavy duty. It should last a while. The color was actually a nice soft rosy red. For a SMALL backpack, it can store a lot . Just not school books, etc. I ended up returning for a few reasons: -- too heavy for me for everyday use. Its as heavy as my leather messenger bag purse -- No place to put your expensive car key. It can only be loose either inside one of the 3 big zippered pockets, or put in the very small front/outside zippered pocket ( which is too exposed for me and chance of zipper opening and losing key). If they added a securely sewn in loop to attach key fob too , or an internal small zippered pocket, that would be better. -- yes, has a chemical smell. I am very sensitive to smells. Although not overpowering, it was annoying for me. -- no way could this be used by a woman as a sling style unless you are completely flat or super tiny. Has to be over the shoulder or as a backpack. I can see this working well for a man who just wants a smallish , stylish "rugged" looking bag. Looks outdoorsy, yet stylish.

I ordered the "canvas embroidery-green". I like the dark green edging and the green leaves and I thought the flowers were white or silvery white like the description picture looks, however the flowers are actually baby blue in person. So fyi, if you decide to get this color variation, you will get this blue color. See first two pics. The bag is so nice and heavy duty, I decided to keep it and fix it to my liking. I figured I'd be crafty, so I purchased some good quality fabric paint pens in opaque white, and went over most of the petals with the pen and it turned out quite nice. IMO. The canvas fabric is holding the paint fabulously, like it came this way and it dried quickly because of the canvas material. Last two pics. The zippers are heavy duty and zip well. I like the thick genuine leather zipper pulls too. Nice touch. The compartments are roomy, except the smaller front pocket. It looks big enough, but isn't and won't fit a cell phone, so I will use this little pocket for change and chapstick. Lastly, the backpack straps are a little long on me. They work fine, I just don't like my backpack to hang low on my back, I mostly use this bag crossbody style anyhow and that works perfect. I do wish the water bottle holder was a bit more roomy to fit slightly larger circumference bottles, so I cut off the inside button snap to allow my skinny 26 oz. RTIC water bottle to fit down into the pocket more easily, which worked great. I didn't need the snap anyhow. When I don't have a bottle in it, I throw my keys in the pocket when I'm in the store. Overall, this is a well built bag and comes in so many great colors/patterns. I say GO FOR IT!!!

The bag is GORGEOUS in every way possible. It is of superior quality - it feels good to wear, the canvas fabric is sturdy (one would be hard pressed to wear it out), the zippers are heavy duty and zip and unzip smoothly, the hardware is metal and heavy duty, the zipper pulls are real leather as claimed as opposed to fabric made to look like leather (a rarity these days), the color I selected was even more beautiful in person, & the aesthetics are outstanding. I should note that the very front pocket (the small one on the front) is not usable for me because the opening, when unzipped, is barely big enough for me to get my hand inside. I can only get my hand in at just the right angle while using more force than I prefer applying to access a pocket in a bag. However, the other pockets and the main compartment are easy to access and organizationally well thought out. The back pocket against the body is, surprisingly, delightfully large (it reaches the full width and height of the back of the bag, as opposed to the small semicircle size the decorative trim and stitching implies) and is a very nice security feature. In addition, the details of the bag are really well thought out. For example, the waterbottle pocket has the option to snap shut when empty, however, actually snapping it shut would have been really difficult if the snap back was on the canvas of the main bag, so they added webbing and put the snap back on the webbing, which allows you to put your thumb behind the snap back, making snapping the pocket shut a breeze. Given all this, you can imagine how sad I am that the overall size of the bag was to small for my purpose. =( I'm returning it. But, if you are looking for a bag of this capacity, it will be hard to beat this one!

Great size, versatile, good quality, plenty of pockets to organize. I was on the fence about this purchase, but did some research and it is a good buy. It’s not too large, not too small. It will fit a couple of books, your wallet and other necessary items that you’d want to carry on a daily commute. It has a large and deep pocket in the back that looks to be small because of the size of the zipper, but it’s very deep. The canvas is very durable. The zippers make it where you can use it as a sling or a backpack. I’m pleased with this product!

Cute bag, well made. Bigger than I thought, but thats a good thing. I reduced stars because it's much darker than advertised, so I don't like the way it looks as much. A bit disappointed.
