I've been a Vic Firth 5A player for more years than I care to remember - a couple of decades at least. Recently my band has started getting complaints / warnings from pubs and clubs that we're too loud - I tell them that acoustic drums don't have a volume knob, but they're generally unmoved.I tried 7A carbon fibre rods, but my bassist thought they were far too quiet (and they feel very 'flappy'), so thought I'd give these 7A a go. No idea if they're quieter than the 5A (no more complaints as yet) but I've got used to them very quickly, the raw finish feels good in the hand and they seem less prone to chipping on the hats than Vic Firths.I'll be using these exclusively for the foreseeable.

In love with my new drum sticks. However, a bit annoyed as they send me one that was the wrong size. They did the same to my fiance drummer and my friend.

No surprises for pro mark products. They are always excellent. Well made, the forward balance is excellent for me and my playing style. If you haven’t tried, it is well worth trying these to see how they suit as they feel very different from a rebound stick.
