I've ordered several towels to folks who turned 42 and they have all enjoyed this galactic gift. Super idea with great quality.

We needed a few new beach towels so I got this one as a Father's Day gift for my husband...a kind of two for one thing. Unfortunately for me, my husband liked it so much that he decided that he wanted to take it to work and hang it in his office. He's an engineer, so this isn't as weird as it might sound. :D As far as if it's worth the price, this towel would have been great for the pool or beach - it felt very thick and of good quality. Husband claims it's suitable as a banner as well, so there's that.While I still need to get new beach towels, my husband was very satisfied with this item. 100% recommend to any Hitchhiker's fan.

You buy this for what it says not for a high quality towel. It is a good average towel, nothing special but it will always remind you not to panic and what the answer to everything is!!! Good towel and it is fun to see how many people know what that means.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. That being said, my wife recently turned 42 and with some Deep Thought I decided what better way to celebrate that milestone than with a towel. The towel is plenty large, soft and thick. It is not a cheap thin towel nor should it be for the price. The print is only on one side while white on the other... not that matters in the grand scheme of the universe.Sadly neither Amazon or getDigital recognizes a leaf as legal tinder for this towel. If you fold the towel just right and put it up to your ear, you can hear it say So long and thanks for all the fish.

I got this for my son who is a BIG Douglas Adams fan. Came in time for him to carry it around on towel day. Actually it's a very nice quality beach towel. I'm sure he will put it to great use!

Ein echt schönes Badetuch. Natürlich sollte man wissen, wozu man ein Handtuch benötigt und warum man es immer dabei haben muss.Das Badetuch hat eine weiße Seit und einen Blaue, die sich sehr unterschiedlich anfühlen. Mit beiden Seiten kann man sich gut abtrocknen.Das Handtuch macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck und das scheint auch länger so zu bleiben (so zumindest mein Eindruck nach 4 Monaten und mehrfachem Waschen).

This towel is just about the most massively useful thing any interstellar Hitchhiker can carry. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course you can dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.More importantly, this towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: nonhitchhiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has this towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, washcloth, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet-weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might accidentally have "lost." What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the Galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.Hence a phrase which has passed into hitch hiking slang, as in "Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is."
