Absolutely fantastic value at Amazon prices!
The more recent DeWalt Xtreme (12V) tools aimed at the automotive market are mostly excellent. Class-leading or near the top in terms of performance, and the ratchets are no exception. Interestingly the 12V ratchets are actually better than the 20V versions (see TTC testing on YT), while *also* having the advantage of being smaller and lighter. The 1/4" Xtreme version being what I believe is DeWalt's smallest current power ratchet. It is not really much bigger than the M12 HS equivalent, except the battery makes it a bit longer owing to a flat style instead of a stem like Milwaukee. However the grip and hand position is much more ergonomic on the DeWalt, and the trigger is so. Much. Better. Than the Milwaukee paddle. The trigger is natural and *extremely* linear and easy to control. In fact it may even be the best trigger I've used in a cordless electric ratchet--and I've owned/used/tried several. Combine this with a 3Ah 12V battery and you have a real winner--perfect lightweight compact ratchet with great performance and battery life. It's not quite as well performing as my Ridgid 1/4" but it's significantly smaller and nicer for tighter spaces/smaller jobs.Normally this ratchet is priced similar to its bigger 3/8" brother (DCF503) but for some reason several 3rd party sellers on Amazon are selling the 1/4" version (DCF504) for much less than retail. ~$70 buys you this and provided you have DeWalt 12V batteries, this is perhaps the best value out there for a 1/4" power ratchet. The icing on the cake is this is really not much larger than Ryobi's Lithium USB line of ratchets, yet at this price it costs about the same, aside from the fact that you need DeWalt 12V batteries. However the performance is so night and day it's unreal. While the Ryobi [USB] can barely turn a nut and performs miserably for the money, the DeWalt is a real contender and competent tool. At this price it's a no-brainer--buy it, you will not be disappointed! I don't think you'll find a better 1/4 drive power ratchet at this price anywhere. Even if you don't have DeWalt 12V batts, pick some up off a local marketplace, etc. if you don't want to swing the retail in them (admittedly DeWalt batts are relatively expensive, even the 12V ones).

A bit over powered but great for stripping down a motor
Bought as an addition to my bulletproof 12yo DeWalt 12v screwdriver which has saved me many hours of excess work. It is perfect for speedy re-assembly of engines because it has a clutch and is low torque (7nM) so I can spin M6 engine screws in quickly without a risk of stripping threads before final torquing. This ratchet has grunt, perhaps too much for a 1/4" dirve, it will rip out of your hand if you don't manage the twitchy but variable trigger precisely. Great for dis-assembly and breaking the odd sacrificial 1/4" crv extension. The size is great for getting into tight spots like between tunnels while removing bell-housing screws.I wish it had a clutch like my screwdriver, I'd happily pay twice the price if it had that feature

Great Dewalt tool
like all Dewalt tools this is well made and seams to have decent power. I purchased this to remove a couple nuts in an almost impossible location to remove with a traditional wrench or ratchet. Worked great and I saved almost $100 buying here compared to the big box store. Just be aware the 12V batteries that this uses are sold separately and you cannot use the standard 18V drill batteries to power this.
