It's a great product. I like sony gadgets
It's a great product. I like sony gadgets, and i also have an Xperia Z2 phone. There are so many smartbands to choose from, i just wanted something simple to start with... and the sony one was the only solution... and the fact that it's from SONY and goes well with the xperia phones, it's a plus! It's very limitless as some will say, but in it's simplicity , very handy, depending on what you will want to do with it! I personally didn't care too much about the steps, running, and other functions... as i heard, it's not so precises.. But even it's 30% less than the REAL number that's good, it makes you work more for your steps and running :))For me the fact it can monitor my sleep it's something, and it can wake you up with a vibration (it's a little too strong for me:) , but it's something! i like it... (not sure yet if it wakes me in the right moment possible, but tunning the settings, in time... i can get there!)I have a lot of alarms on my phones, and hourly chimes and :30 , chimes... I can hear my phone or my band will vibrate... Maybe sounds stupid... but i know then what time it is, how productive i am, or if i didn't do something i will do it now... or just START doing stuff :) ... it can get annoying, but it's motivating me...YES it disconnects often, but it has a 10m range maximum... so that's not too much. The WALK away function it's useful too... vibrates when your phone is behind or you forgot about it!The band is hard to secure for the first time... but after you get used with it... it's OK ; It's also there to stay... It may fall down in your sleep... and it's also water resistant !AND there are crazy functions that can be implemented... It's a simple device, it's a sony, looks good, feels good, but always is room for me...AGAIN, in it's simplicity is very good -> great... for me, it's about keeping me on track, motivated and remind me from time to time i have things to do :) YOU can't wear a thing like this and procrastinate ...The price is just right now. Probably i wouldn't have paid MORE or the original price...

Waste of Time, inaccurate
I bought two of these for Christmas, one for me and one for my daughter. I connected mine relatively easily to my Sony Xperia XY via bluetooth. My daughter has a Huawei Honor 5 plus and after many attempts I have given up trying to get it to connect.I'm sure it under-reads the steps you take and often does strange things in the middle of a walk ie in the middle of a local park it decided I got into a car and drove about half a mile (see screenshot)!!!Another time we were on a circular walk and it decided we drove several miles in the middle of it (see the other screenshot). It seems more accurate when cycling, but can still make out that you have done de-tours that you haven't. The other frustrating thing is that it only tells you how long you have cycled or how many steps you have taken, it doesn't give a total distance for the day. The sleep part of the app is a waste of time, you have to put in how long you slept each night (I think you need a band with a HR monitor for this to work.On the plus side, I like the way it vibrates when you get a text or other message on your phone and the way it maps where you have been. They're both going back, but I haven't yet decided which one to buy instead.

My Opinion of the Sony SmartBand SWR10
I have had the Sony SmartBand for about a week and here is my thoughts about it.Firstly let’s start off with the packaging, the Smart band comes in a really nice casing made of hard see through plastic and inside you band two bands (in the colour you purchased), one small and one large with the actually core unit. The bands are extremely light weight, and seems to be made of a type of silicon, the band does not stick to your skin nor does it pull on any of the hair on your arm.The band comes with basic additional functions and capabilities such as:Vibration alerts for phone calls, messages and if you move out of range of your phone, these settings can be switched on and off.The band also has functionality to control applications like your music player by pausing, skipping or even rewinding a song. Now the core reason someone will buy this made for is its activity tracker, and the smart band does a really good job of actually tracking your activity and I could say it has been quite accurate with regards to steps, running, travelling in a vehicle and even cycling, the device will track all activities and sync to your phone so you don’t need your phone on you all the time and the device connects using NFC which is really seamless according to Sony’s website the device can store 2 weeks of data however I have only tried for 2 to 3 hours as my phone is always with me. Everything gets logged to a really nice application developed by Sony called Life Blog however I have picked up a few issues with the logging as some times it logs a walk as cycling or running, these issues I have experienced about 1 or 2 times a day however you can edit the entry. The units battery lasted me 5 full days and charges for about 30 minutes max.Makes me think that the SmartBand 2 with Heart Rate monitor should be really awesome.
