New Replacement Apple TV Remote Control for Apple TV1 2 3 A1427 A1469 A1378 A1294 MD199LL/A MC572LL/A MC377LL/A MM4T2AM/A MM4T2ZM/A TV

I don't really care about the lack of a Siri/voice button, since I've never used that function very much anyway. What I did need was a replacement remote that included the correct Apple remote button layout, including the Home button with an icon that looks like a tiny TV. I have purchased several other replacement remotes and they all lack this button, so I can't pull up the video full screen when I see notifications from my Homekit cameras. The Home button is also necessary to access the upper right menu with profile, HomeKit, and power settings, and it allows you to reboot the Apple TV by holding down the back and home for 30 s.This remote is light and flimsy-feeling, but part of that is because it uses a common CR2032 button cell instead of AA or AAA batteries. I always have a lot of CR2032 batteries available since they are used in many devices and car key fobs nowadays; the lack of an included battery didn't matter to me. This is the exact same layout (minus the Siri button) as the current aluminum Apple TV remote, and I didn't have to do anything to pair or unpair anything. It works via IR, though, so make sure there is a line of sight to your Apple TV.Since a replacement remote from Apple is ~$60, paying $9 for almost full functionality is a great deal. I can't comment on durability, but it is working well so far.

Didn’t work with Apple block

Works like the original Apple TV remote. Didn’t like the battery slot bc it was hard to open it. It felt like it can break or snap off easily if pressure was applied to open it. No instruction guide so I had to search online or on Amazon site.

No battery, needs a button style. Yikes

Worked perfectly just like the original and it automatically linked with my apple tv.

Took a gamble on a cheap remote and got what I paid for. Out of the box it didn't work. I though maybe I had bad batteries, so I bought new ones and it still did not work. So I ended up spending more on batteries that I did on the remote.The remote felt cheap and fragile.

This is probably a terrible Apple TV remote…. But it is an AMAZING toddler toy. My baby loves to steal the Apple Remote and the other rubberized fake ones are not real enough to fool him- this one is! We bought 2 and will probably buy more as back ups!
