8 Way 2M Extension Lead SAFEMORE Vertical Tower Extension 8 Outlet with 4 USB Output Overload Protection Power Strip (Black)

This is a neat alternative to the usual extension lead, but as far as I can make out it does not include protection for phones or computers during an electrical surge. This does not matter for my usage. It has USB sockets for phone or i pad charging also there are two press switches on the top allowing you to switch off half of the sockets at a time should you wish to these illuminate when in the on position.It is sturdy and appears to be well put together. It is a very recent purchase but I would not hesitate to recommend this item. Delivery was exceptional quick.

A very compact solution to my problem of cables all over the floor from two 4 gang extensions. This unit sits neatly on my desk and the cables sit down the back of my desk, not all over the floor.Only problem I have encountered is when I plugged my Lumia phone into the USB sockets I get a message saying my phone is only charging slowly, so there's clearly not enough juice through the USB ports. Not a major problem for me as I usually charge my phone elsewhere.

Well designed and solid, and the USB ports are handy to have. But the unit makes a constant high-pitched whining noise that's really annoying and distracting in a creative office environment.

This was a great product, unfortunately one of the USB ports didn't work so I had to return it and was only offered a refund. I will be buying a replacement as it was perfect for my needs. The one thing I would say is be aware there is a very bright blue LED on the front of the item when using the USB ports, something to be aware of if you are planning to put this in a bedroom.

Bought for my sons room. Has 2 separate switches so you can just have one half of the sockets on at a time if required. Excellent idea to have the USB ports included as well. Would have been better with a slightly longer cable which is why I’ve deducted 1 star.

I replaced my Belkin (8) sockets power strips with these units. The most obvious benefit of this product over the power strips they replaces was the (4) USB charging ports. Almost everything is USB powered these days. The next big advantage of this product is that there are *NO WASTED SOCKETS*. Due to the bulky shape of many plugs, I could only ever use at most 5 of 8 sockets on one of my power strip. Final advantage is the small footprint. Power strips are so bulky you have only two choices: put them under your desk and keep getting on your hands and knees every time you want to connect or disconnect a device, or put them on your desk and lose half your workspace to them for the price of easy access. Since these units have a small footprint, I have them on my desktop and the footprint is extremely small. The manufacturer warns about disconnecting everything in the event of lightening, but I guess this is a risk with any power supply unit.

Its an OK product, however quite hard to insert and remove power plugs in some of the sockets, so don't think it would last very long.. but so far so good.

I was worried it might be too light and easily topple over but it has a good weight and is able to stand firm when stubborn plug wires would rather bend in other directions. Have the same model as reviewer Mr. Baz with the two buttons on the top to activate/deactivate power to each half of the 8 plug sockets. Turning the USB charging ports on seems to require holding the USB power button in for half a second until the light turns on. The blue led light for the USB ports is rather eye catching in a piercing sort of way so I don't leave it on when I'm not charging anything. Quality is good and matches the £26 price tag (as of writing); i.e. it doesn't feel like a £5 product masquerading as something more expensive.
