Received promptly as advertised. Great product.
Received promptly as advertised. The only one I buy. I have 3 and also bought for family. Just dont push screen hard. Learned my lesson on one, but bought more since because they are accurate.

Accurate, simple, but a little hard to see in bright light.
This is doing a great job for me. It's accurate (I gauged it against another digital stand-alone unit, the digital readout on my Honeywell humidifier, and an old analog dial gauge), and it doesn't take up a lot of space. I've been using it non-stop for months now, and the battery is still going strong. The only thing I would improve on this item is the visibility. If it's under incandescent light, or 'side-lit' with my home's lighting, I can't see the LCD readout. So, that's limiting its placement for me. However, in bright light, it's easy to read (as in the attached photo). So, the addition of a 'tap top to see readout' like my other backlit unit would be greatly appreciated. Overall, it's not too large, not too small, wipes down easily, is stable on its base, and has good battery life. I'm happy with this item

Works like it should
We’ve bought a few of these and they are nice to have.I seem to give them to my adult children and then I don’t have one for our own house. In the winter our house gets dry and it’s nice to have a gauge that tells us exactly how dry it is so we can add moisture. Works really well and we’ve had them for quite a few years and haven’t had to change the batteries.

Humidistat is not as accurate as the competitor
This looks just like the competitor and is cheaper; so I fell for it and bought two. I use these things through out the house to maintain a humidity level at or above 43%. There is empirical data that indicates that the cold and flue viruses physically cannot reproduce in your mucous membranes when the ambient humidity is at or above 43%. My experience is that this is true as I have not had such an infection since I started being consistent(compulsive) about maintaining that level in my house over 6 years ago. Yes I know that, that is only one data point but I am not claiming that it proves any thing empirically; it only describes my experience. I have been using the competitors unit for years and they are "accurate" to with in 1% humidity across the board and they are in agreement at the same level with with the humidistats in my humidifiers which I believe are more accurate than these units are designed to be. All of these units will eventual fail. They are not scientific instruments. I use them in five different zones in the house and because they are in the vicinity of the 4 humidifiers that I run in the house during the winter time, when one fails it is obvious and easily tested. On the average the slightly more expensive competitors units are consistently more accurate. and these that I am reviewing are off by about 2% of relative humidity(RH). So I cannot "trust" them to let me know when the RH has dropped below 43%. Spend the extra 2 bucks. And buy the competitor's units. All of the units agree on temperature, but the temperature sensors are much simpler than the humidity sensors.

Necessary!
I didn't know our apartment was so dry. I run a humidifier most of the time because humidity is easier on my nose. So this year I got a really bloody nose. It kept coming back and I used Nasogel, which was super soothing. But I hadn't been running the humidifier. So I ended up getting this meter. I didn't know the slightest about how much humidity we had or what the numbers should be. This monitor shows you - it's very easy to understand. It turns out our apartment was extremely dry, and even with the humidifier on in the summer, I'm lucky if humidity reaches mid-range of comfortable. We love on Southern California where there is no rain until the end of the year. Last week it rained, and the monitor showed it a very comfortable 56 on my monitor (high end of the comfortable range). For me, this little monitor is looked at as much as the thermostat!

The meter is easy to read and as far as I can tell reasonably accurate. I do wish that it had more of a light up display so it could be read at a distance/angle a touch better, but honestly if the display actually lit up it would then be problematic for the bedroom so it's not like I can honestly fault them for that. The fact it also gives a temperature read out is convenient for me - and the humidity display is in large easy to read text.
