Far End Gear XDU Pathfinder Single Stereo-to-Mono Noise Isolating Earphone, Reinforced Cord

Being deaf, it is pointless using stereo headphones. I find this is ideal and in fact, it is the second one I have purchased. If only one earpiece is required, this is the one. 5*****

I would imagine that most people would want a single earpiece for wearing outside when exercising so that they are still aware of what is going on around them. My use is unusual. I wear mine whilst I am in bed. I go to bed each night, plug my earpiece into my left ear, lay on my right side and off I go to sleep, listening to the radio. I am always tuned in to Radio 4 which goes over to BBC World Service at 1:00 am. Why do you do that, I can hear many people asking. Well my wife can sometimes snore quite loudly. If I have my earpiece in, the background noise of droning conversation tend to muffle the sound of snoring. And if I do wake up, instead of getting irritated at the sound my wife is making, I often get involved with the current programme (there is some really interesting stuff on the World Service) and the next thing I know, I have fallen back asleep again. You cannot "make" yourself go to sleep, but try and stay awake in the middle of the night and listen to something and it is very hard not to fall asleep again, quite quickly. The earpiece is well made and the cable is reinforced so it should stand some robust treatment. I would guess that for those who want to listen to music, the stereo sound is converted to monaural sound. It is a well made product at a reasonable price and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a single piece head set.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this earphone, much better than I expected for the price.How about the audio quality?I have to confess, I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to how my music sounds.This ain’t bad at all! Again, much better than expected.I bought these to listen to stuff during the quiet spells during long night shifts, I need to be able to hear the phone ring and tannoy calls for “engineer to….” They sound good and have produced a sharp and accurate reproduction of everything I’ve played.Simply put, a damn good product, especially at this price.

Used in bed

Initially I was disappointed as one of the ear pieces was missing from the package ( which had presumably had escaped during handling) As I could not be bothered returning the item I contacted the distributers ( via Amazon) to enquire where to purchase a replacement bud. The response from the distributors was friendly and immediate, promising to replace the item the next day. Brilliant service I would certainly recommend this company for future purchases.However, although not used extensively yet, the sound quality does appear good which is important, as like many others, suffer from a hearing defect and only have partial hearing in one ear. Amazing, now I can listen to music on the go. Thank you.

I use this stereo-to-mono earpiece to listen to the radio during the night without disturbing my wife. It needs to be secure and comfortable enough for me to fall asleep while wearing it. This is the second I have owned and, for some reason, has much better sound - especially the bass response. Very pleased with it.

Comfortable to wear, excellent sound, reasonable value. I use it for listening to the radio at night so that I don't disturb my wife - and it works admirably.

I am deaf on one side and needed an ear bud that would turn stereo to mono. The XDU works very well and has excellent sound quality. Unfortunately, after less than 6 weeks the ear piece has separated from the cable and therefore quite useless.I am returning for a full refund.

I take my AM radio to listen to the broadcast while I watch the team play. I like to listen to the noises in the stadium as well. This earphone does the trick - allowing me to do both. It seals to the ear enough that I can hear the radio even when the crowd gets a little noisy. It's also great for listening to the broadcast as I walk back to the car after the game.It is a little expensive for what it is. I certainly don't thing it's anything hifi, but it works for what I use it for.

Picked this item on recommendation from another Amazon user. Good choice. A simple appliance that works well across a variety of devices, both mobile and stationary. Three earpiece selection included of differing sizes.

Ho acquistato questo mono-auricolare stereo perchè sono sorda da un orecchio e devo dire che mi si è aperto un mondo... film e musica hanno un altro sapore rispetto all'utilizzo di uno solo di due auricolari classici, come facevo di solito. Non dò 5 stelle perchè devo dire che come auricolare ha una forma non proprio ergonomica e tende a cadere, si potrebbe migliorare!

Habe nach einem einseitigen Kopfhörer gesucht, da ich beim spielen auf meiner PS4 manchmal ein Ohr frei haben will.Die Auswahl an kabelgebundenen einseitigen Kopfhörern ist nicht grade riesig, darum also den XDU Pathfinder gekauft, mit eher niedrigen Erwartungen.Bin nach dem ersten Probehören aber angenehm überrascht: Sitz im Ohr ist gut (mit dem richtigen Gummistöpsel), und der Klang ist recht ordentlich. Nicht ganz so gut wie meine (teureren) Fidelio in-ears, aber völlig ausreichend zum gamen, und telefonieren.Darum: Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.P.S. Kann zur Verarbeitungsqualität und Haltbarkeit noch nicht viel sagen, werde aber meine Rezension ändern falls die Kopfhörer vorzeitig den Geist aufgeben.
